Cosy.
Idyllic.
Withered Hill,
Scuttlers Cove,
Scratch Moss.
Twisted Pike (a return to Withered Hill)
Places you'd want to live, ironically feeling safe The people populating these places all convey a deep sense of community which is the underlying theme in all of the books t feels like a dream. No crime, no aggression. Just the ways of the folk.
Seems like a peaceful life, just with, upsetting ta outsiders. rites and rituals Not bustling metropolis full of people, vehicles and noise. Its a serene calm with a friendly face albeit with an underlying sense of dread and the inevitable.

@davidmbarnett has done a fantastic job with these books and although he says Twisted Pike is the final book I selfishly hope something pulls him back, or he at the very least decides to stay in the genre.

You can run but all roads lead back to Withered Hill

Welcome to Season of Spook! Night 18

Tonight's rituals are Clive Barkers Book of Blood and The Prophecy
.
One fantastic telling of two of the stories from the Books of Blood.
The other a film series not spoken about enough involving fallen angels played in this by Christopher Walken and Eric Stoltz and a cop investigating a series of Killings played by Ella's Koteas who I swear is related to Robert De Niro 😆😅 and Virgina Madsen of Candyman

Welcome to Season of Spook! Night 17

Tonight's rituals are The Void and Prince of Darkness

Two tales from the unknown.
One a creepy siege movie that becomes something cosmically horrific from @kill_kostanski
The other an unsung classic from @johncarpenterofficial one that scared the shit out of me as a kid. It has an alien dread to it, it feels dirty, there is no hope, fighting is futile.

Tonight's rituals are Onslaught and Saint Maud.

One a fun, kick ass, action horror, the other a slow burn, psychological masterpiece.
