We are saddened to mourn the passing of our dear friend Danny Simmons. Not only was Danny an accomplished poet and amazing visual artist he was an icon and an important figure assisting in the development of countless up-and-coming artists many of whom are now established professionals. The founder of Rush Philantropic along with his brothers @unclerush and @revwon , Danny was instrumental in launching the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series @scopeartshow and many other programs that gave the young and underrepresented an opportunity to learn about the industry and to have the industry learn about them. Danny was 72.

His passing comes on the same day as what would have been the 84th birthday of the legendary comic artist and our good friend Neal Adams. Neal died four years ago at the age of 80, and is missed everyday by his legion of fans and those that he helped along the way.

Aside from their tremendous talent, great intellects, and genuine humor, both shared a love for helping others, fighting the good and noble fights, and offering support and assistance to both the next generation of artists and those that came before. Both were giants, icons, heroes and friends, and they are missed by all that knew them.

We are proud and honored to have played a small part in the amazing careers of these two superstars. We will keep the fires burning!

Very sad to hear about the passing of my friend Danny Simmons. Danny was a great artist, an important figure, and good friend to all. His leadership and influence will live on, but I will miss visiting him in Philly and eating Max’s Cheese Steaks. Rest In Power by @hortdaniel
