Our sweet little baby girl Hexie Lew was born on Sunday. We’ve decided to keep her off the internet for the time being, but we still wanted to share our good news. Everyone says she looks like me anyway so here’s a couple of her first pics with my face. We love you so so so much Hexie! by @hortilicious_jeff
But she loves smooth jazz 😭😭😭 by @hortilicious_jeff
Nov 24, 2014 - @hannahfruit and I went on our first date. It was the Gravy Brothers at Cactus Cafe. It’s one of those nights I can recall, almost moment to moment with vivid memory. I don’t remember the exact moment but I really fell in love with her that night. Today is our tenth anniversary together. Originally we had planned to get married in summer of 2020….for some reason we postponed it….i can’t remember why now…😶…. And for a while we weren’t sure if marriage was our thing. Well, it turns out, marriage is totally our thing. This summer we tied the knot , July 30, in Lancaster Kentucky - at a “small” family gathering, at an Airbnb on a farm that Hannah’s folks converted into a wedding venue. I’ve been to a lot of weddings, and sorry yall, ours was the best wedding I’ve been to. I love you Hannah, i love our life and the relationship we’ve built, you are my best friend, and the love of my life. Here’s to the last ten years, and all the years to come. Plus now we have another anniversary to look forward to! 📸 @ches_alan (the one and only) by @hortilicious_jeff
Knowing which faces to make for what sounds is half of playing music. I teach lessons on advanced face, how to face and general face theory. The things you learn about music are almost entirely incidental yet are incredibly useful. Yes…anyone can learn! #face #drums by @hortilicious_jeff
Songwriter Sessions on Mary are back! Open to the public come hang and bring enough snacks for everyone. by @hortilicious_jeff

Playing @cota_official this weekend with @losalcos and @theandreadaniela - quick storytime it’s been 12 years since I played there with @whiskeyshivers. Life’s a full circle and it’s shaped like a squiggly race car track and you gotta run the circle a couple times both revved and relaxed. by @hortilicious_jeff
I have a new song out streaming now, just in time for spooky season. I grew up against the woods in appalachia and grow up with a lot of superstitious fears of things like shape shifting skinwalkers, witches, and general ghoulery. This songs about how I still have those irrational fears, despite doing mundane things everyday that are much deadlier when you think about it. I mean, if you let go driving it'd be much worse than the boogeyman. If you don't chew your food enough and eat too fast, it could be a more morbid outcome than bloody mary. Anyway, hope y'all enjoy! This guitar lick is kinda celtic, kinda south-asian. the vocals very incubus. by @hortilicious_jeff

Mitchell was an inspiration to watch, a joy to play with, and a good friend. I cant believe an entire decade has gone by without you in the world my friend! I’m playing at the annual tribute show at Sage Brush this saturday for Mitch and Chris Porter who both passed tragically on tour when their bus was rear ended by a semi. Even though the world is less without our friends, we still have their amazing songs to remember them forever. by @hortilicious_jeff
