Hidden gem north of Dallas blending Japanese & Texas BBQ with a coffee roasterie that more people need to know about 🔥🍖

I checked out @hoshiranch , and this place is honestly so unique. It was founded by YouTuber @stevespov , and you can really feel that creative, community-driven energy as soon as you walk in. It’s actually the same owner of the Texas Sized Onigiris at @hoshijapanesesweets.

They bring together Japanese barbecue and Texas barbecue in one space, plus they have an indoor market and coffee roastery, so there’s a little bit of everything to explore.

What makes it stand out even more is the atmosphere. It feels super welcoming and homey, like a place you can hang out for hours.

What you’ll find here:

🔥 Japanese BBQ meets Texas BBQ fusion
☕ Coffee roastery and market vendors
🎶 Live concerts and events at night
⚽ Outdoor games like soccer and bag toss
🚗 Car shows and car community meetups
🌿 Indoor and outdoor seating spaces

If you’re into lifestyle spots, cars, food, and unique hangout spaces, add this to your list and follow @toomuchsaki for more! 🌟

🚨 WE’RE HIRING! — PLANO & McKINNEY 🚨

Hoshi Ranch and Hoshi Japanese Café are growing our team!

We’re looking for dependable, positive all-hands-on-deck team players who enjoy working with people and aren’t afraid to jump in wherever they’re needed.

📍 Hoshi Japanese Café — Plano
We’re looking for someone versatile who can help with all aspects of the Café — customer service, food preparation, keeping things organized, and being part of a small team where everyone helps each other.

📍 Hoshi Ranch — McKinney
We’re looking for both front-of-house and kitchen team members.

🍳 Kitchen or chef experience is a big plus!
We especially need someone comfortable getting into the kitchen, cooking, prepping, and helping keep service moving — but just like the Café, we value people who are willing to help wherever needed.

What matters most to us:

✅ Reliable
✅ Hard-working
✅ Friendly and comfortable with customers
✅ Team-oriented
✅ Willing to learn
✅ Willing to jump in and help wherever needed

Restaurant experience is great, but attitude, reliability and being a good team player are just as important to us.

Interested?

📩 Send us a DM with:
• Your name
• Which location you’re interested in — Plano or McKinney
• Your availability
• A little about your work experience

Know someone who would be a great fit? Please share this post with them!

Big weekend coming up at Hoshi Ranch! ⭐️

Thursday night we’re open from 5–9 PM with our Wagyu Experience special — $10 off for two and $20 off for four.

Friday night, Charlie Osborne & The Heavy Hands will be live from 6:30–9:30 PM.

Saturday night, Phoenix Lawless will be on the keyboard from 6:30–9 PM.

And Sunday is going to be a fun one — we’re open for lunch from 11 AM–2 PM, and Hoshi Ranch will be the final stop for the Japanese K Car Rally. We’re expecting 30+ K cars to arrive around 12–1 PM, and everyone is welcome to come out, check out the cars, grab some food, and hang out.

It also happens to be my birthday, so we’ll be celebrating that too! 🎂

Hope to see you at the Ranch this weekend!

DFW car clubs — I’ve got an idea.

A lot of you know me from Steve’s POV, but I also own Hoshi Ranch up in the McKinney area — Wagyu, Japanese barbecue, a big property, and plenty of room for cars.

I’ve been thinking we should be doing a lot more with the local car community out here.

If you run a car club, organize cruises, or have a group that’s always looking for a good destination, I’d love to have you guys out to the Ranch.

Japanese cars, European cars, American cars, exotics, classics, trucks — I don’t care what you drive. If you’re into cars and respectful of others you’re welcome.

We can arrange the cars together, get some good photos and video, eat, hang out, and make an actual destination out of the day instead of another parking lot meet.

For normal club gatherings, I’m not looking to charge a venue fee. I just want to get more good car people out here and make Hoshi Ranch a place the DFW car community can enjoy.

If you run a club or know someone who does, send me a DM.

Let’s make something happen.

From Canada to Texas 🇨🇦➡️🇺🇸 This awesome ’79 Toyota Cressida brings some Japanese style with it! Inspired by Bellezia, a shop in Japan I’m good friends with. Love seeing that influence reach Texas! 🇯🇵🔥
