Last week we hosted a little midweek get-together in Host House featuring @cloud_picker and @boatyardistillery.

You couldn’t get a better fit. Two smart, sustainable and stylish businesses, both B Corp @bcorpeurope, and both with big, bold ambitions and clear plans for achieving those goals.

We were serving three cocktails (and maybe a few martinis, thanks as always, @captain.ciaran).

There was a VCT, a Coffee Negroni and a Flat White Martini, all made using the delicious new Cloud Picker RTD coffee that you can pick up in lots of places in their chic matte cans.

Stunning.

The Georgina Campbell Ireland Guide Awards 2026 took place yesterday.

This year there was a real focus on celebrating the human touch, on what makes good hospitality, and on those hospitality jewels who deliver that precious, priceless sense of connection and being minded.

Mark Moriarty Studio opens in August — a home for all of Mark’s creative work, but also somewhere to showcase his particular style of friendly and intimate hospitality, and delicious food.

A beautifully cosy and elegant space tucked under an art gallery at IPUT’s snazzy new neighbourhood, Wilton Park, it’s where, from August 7th, Mark and his top team will be welcoming guests for dinner over two sittings every Friday night.

Bookings go live at 10am

A 6/7-course set menu with just 20 guests per sitting, Mark describes it like a relaxed and enjoyable dinner party, original and accessible, which we cannot WAIT to join.

It’s always great to get the inside track on somewhere from an actual insider, a proper local.

The River Lee has a smart ongoing series of ‘Curated Weekends in Cork’ that do just that, and bestselling author Louise O’Neill is the very latest curator.

Joining previous guides who are all Cork to the core — Siobhán McSweeney, Caroline O’Donoghue, Jo Linehan and William Murray — Louise is bringing a slice of her home in West Cork to this particular 48 hours.

It’s National Martini Day in the US today… let us pray…
🙏🏽🍸

Please raise a glass to the good ship Martina, our little boat bar we bought in 2020 from the fabulous @andreadhoran, and also to the far too many clients to mention in one post who are doing great Martinis at the minute.

The L.É. Martina (also known as Maggie’s Bar 👀) has been flat out since she arrived, with @boatyarddistillery as her house pour, and she’s now busier than ever providing what the master @mcgurkdeclan kindly described as some of “Dublin’s best Martinis” here at Host House.

Happy Martini Day to all who celebrate it.
