Welcome to the Mini Manor on Sardis - the short term rental annex to our beloved and wildly successful @honeysucklemanor_ down the street in Midlothian, Texas.

I had so much fun with this project: more color, more pattern, more play. This home is all about creating texture, warmth, and that perfectly layered feel that makes you want to stay awhile.

It's such a joy designing for repeat clients - especially when they trust me to push the boundaries a little and have some fun.

When @kittabodmerphotography and I first met, it was spark at first sight. We looked at each other and were both like, "whoa hi I've known you forever in a past life." Instant flame.

She was an easy easy choice to take senior photos for my gorgeous @cec1liaaahh. The three of us had a magical Friday evening chasing the golden hour all the way from Rocky Butte to Multnomah Falls and along the Old Columbia River Hwy.

Just when we all thought we had lost the light, the trees parted and we got this view. Pure magic! by @hostihome

People often ask where my love of the ocean comes from, and honestly—I’m not sure there was one defining moment.⁠
⁠
Growing up in Ohio, summers felt magical and winters felt endless. Every year, my parents gave us a choice: Disney or the beach—and we always chose the beach. It was the sun, the salt in our hair, the pool-to-beach-to-pool rhythm of our days that made it feel like pure freedom.⁠
⁠
We’d pile into the car with a TV strapped to a cooler, watching The Sound of Music and that old dinosaurs cartoon on repeat. We didn’t need much—just a week of no plans and wide open days. If we saw a lighthouse, we’d stop. If we felt like wandering to a new beach, we went.⁠
⁠
Designing this space reminded me of that—of ease, of warmth, of letting go. Not everything has to be planned. Sometimes the best spaces (and the best memories) come from simply rolling with it.⁠

When in California styling a house, you forage! I looove all the wild eucalyptus, olive, oleander, and lavender that grow on the side of the road.

I don't live in the nicest neighborhood, but I've made my little sanctuary the most beautiful spot to sit on a summer night. Price of admission: a bottle of cold rosé or a can of cold raspberry lime Polar. See you tonight. by @hostihome

Swipe for a dramatic before/after of my front yard.

8 years ago: just grass, weeds, a pile of woodchips, and some tulips the former tenant left behind.

No fence. No flower beds. No cherry trees. No garden beds. No twinkle lights. It wasn't really a place we enjoyed.

Now? It’s our sanctuary. We work/ed hard and took our time and it was so worth it.

✨ Growth takes time.
🌱 Design takes time.
❤️ Patience is worth it.

I met up with @organizedblisspdx and @karissa.pdxdesignrep at the Flower Market this morning to hunt for spring florals that match the SW 2025 Color Capsule.
