During a time of many snakes in many forms obstructing my life, but giving me plentiful artistic inspiration by @hot.kn1fe

happy birthday to the love of my life, my partner in crime & ridiculousness, my peter pan, my forever valentine.

isa, you make my life better in every single way. you teach and inspire me in a million ways and there’s nothing i love more than living life by your side. i love being silly with you, watching you do the things you love, sharing little kisses in the ocean, messing with our little nugget man, and just being with you.

every day with isa is my dream. a thousand lifetimes together would never be enough. but we’ll try to make the most of this one ❤️

words can’t possibly express everything i feel about isa, especially not words i’ve written. here’s a lil quote anyway though: “i swear i couldn’t love you more than i do right now, and yet i know i will tomorrow.” – leo christopher by @hot.kn1fe

typographical design of @hot.kn1fe’s favorite part of “jessica gives me a chill pill” by @angiesijunlou

i’ve been working on this for over a year now. it’s gone through so many different modifications and letterings, sometimes i thought it would never get done. instead of trying to “finish” it, this week i decided to just get it to a point that i could post it.

in college, a professor once told me that artists never finish a piece, they just stop working on it. sometimes i forget that and get too obsessed with “finishing” and i end up with something this beautiful sitting in my drafts for over a year.

it might not be finished but i’m done working on it!

un febrero lindo y lleno de amor☀️💞 by @hot.kn1fe

when i was a kid, i wanted to skateboard so unbelievably bad. but i was not very athletic, and i was a highly anxious and fearful child by nature, and when my dad took me to a skate shop and bought me a skateboard, i lost confidence quickly and considered it an impossible dream.

last week i realized what once seemed so out of reach feels like it’s in the palm of my hand.

it would not be an understatement to say that @skatelikeagirl changed my life. their work, their support, their laughs, and their passion has transformed the way i see my world and my future. i will forever be grateful.

but the best part of all of this is that i get to do it next to the person i love most in the world. isa is my best friend, my favorite skater, my biggest motivator, and there is absolutely nobody in the universe that i would rather be doing this work with. every single day with them is a dream come true.

i could probably go on forever about how incredible last week was, how much love i feel for the fellow members of our cohort, how revitalized and inspired i felt every day of our orientation. but i’ll leave it simple and cheesy: thank you skateboarding. 🛹🩷 by @hot.kn1fe
