@hot.take_ is a Chicago-based DJ and the co-founder of @773flowstate , an underground party series and collective that focuses on highlighting local and international artists across the globe with a particular emphasis on hypnotic, bassy, and psychedelic sounds.

Hot Take is known for sets that blend bassy dub, and progressive boggers, that cater to underground dance floors. He has performed alongside notable figures like Mala, Ben UFO, Maara, and HAAi to name a few.

Flow State is party series that frequently hosts events at Chicago venues like Podlasie Club and Smartbar along with DIY spots with local collectives Green Machine and Club Hospitality. They maintain a “Flow State Mixtape” series on SoundCloud to showcase their residents and guest artists as well as monthly charts that highlight fresh releases from likeminded producers.

what a treat it was to play a two hour radio slot, i really enjoyed the chance to start off with some ambient and downtempo jawns before jumping into the more dance forward selects (and obviously a grunge closing track). endless thanks to the @dublab team for having me on 🙏

some blends were velvety smooth others a bit more ambitious and Kode9 I’m so sorry for clanking the mix on your track man i owe you a beer. that’s showbiz baby. at least you know this wasn’t pre-recorded 😅
