i had the most incredible year supporting my client! i learned and grew so much as a young professional, developed the most meaningful relationships with my clients from all around the world, and travelled to support multiple offices, including the one in my hometown! this was the most empowering year of my life and i have so much gratitude for the opportunities i had as a result of my time with EY. i worked really hard and decided i deserve a break. for my 26th birthday, my gift to myself is leaving corporate, focusing on myself, my health, and enjoying my life. in addition to leaving my job, i am also leaving seattle.

we free ourselves, cuz we ain’t dead yet. to new horizons! 🥂

the @nordstrom Downtown Seattle Block Party was amazing!!! they celebrated their 125th anniversary with fun for the whole family — live music, games, discounts, and free customizations with purchase ALL WEEKEND LONG!!! they brought local musicians like @shauncrawford22 and local Seattle favorites like the @pikeplacepublicmarket fish toss, @mariners Moose, and Blitz from @seahawks to keep us entertained. i left with so many goodies and ready for the next one! 😆

if i had to use one word to describe the @iaamuseum, it would be “intentional.” i’ve visited 60+ museums, monuments, memorials, and galleries coast to coast and none have impacted me as much as this one did. i believe that the purpose of visiting any of these cultural spaces is to be transformed. whether you leave more inspired, informed, or curious, you come out a different person than who went in. this museum experience was especially moving, not only because of its local, national, and international focus, not only because of the historic and spiritual site it’s built upon — the port where 40% of enslaved Africans entered this country — but because it brought me closer to myself and my direct lineage. midway through the museum is a genealogy research center that provided me access to resources i was never able to utilize. i have found it extremely difficult to try to do research on my Native American heritage anywhere outside of Oklahoma. this amazing center helped me find information i never knew about my ancestors who were Black Cherokee Freedmen. i was finally able to find birth and death dates of my relatives and even discovered that my great-great-great-great uncle was a Union soldier. i have so much gratitude. what a blessing it is to know who and where you come from!

@infinitysong brought the energy to Westlake Park at the Downtown Summer Sounds Kickoff Concert. @downtownseattle association is hosting ‼️ FREE ‼️ outdoor concerts across downtown in Westlake Park, Occidental Square, and other pop-ups from July 9 - August 28. this is why Seattle is the greatest city in the world, per our @mayorofseattle. 😆

girlhood, sisterhood, motherhood — the places we can take off our masks. i grew up a little girl with dreams. in adulthood, i found women who empower me to make them a reality. i’m so blessed to be in community with the most incredible women and so happy to support when i can.

sending the biggest congratulations to @just_abdullah / @stillhousegallery for curating this show, Melancholy Masquerade. the opening night during the @belltownartwalk at @common_area was full of energy from start to finish. shout out to @couturecreationsbychloe and @onaytonie for creating incredibly moving pieces that provoke reflection on the different stages of life we experience.
