As we take a little breather this summer, we thought we’d reintroduce ourselves, for anyone just tuning in…Callum and Oscar opened Hot & Bothy at Archerfield in East Lothian in September 2025, chasing a dream of creating a sauna oasis tucked away in nature. We host community and private sessions, from early mornings to late nights, across two saunas - one of which we built ourselves & the other being our yurt, the first & only public sauna yurt in the UK. We have cold plunges, a shower, changing rooms, a firepit & even a compost loo. Since then we’ve grown bit by bit, learnt countless lessons we could never have imagined, been accredited as an Operator Member by the British Sauna Society and nominated for ‘Best Community Sauna’ at the UK sauna awards.None of it happens without our sauna hosts, Iona, Maddie, Eve, Makena and Helena. Together we’ve hosted sauna yoga, Aufguss ceremonies, soundbaths, running groups, solstice feasts, full moon celebrations, countless birthdays and wedding parties. Some of it we planned. A lot of it came into being beyond anything we imagined, and that’s mostly down to the people, the connections, the conversations that have stayed with us.It’s been a bit quieter these summer months, but we’re still here and it’s given us a minute to reflect. We’ve got plenty planned ahead in the next few months so please do stay tuned & we would love to catch up if you’ve been before or meet you for the first time if you haven’t. 🎪 My first Aufguss in a yurt… and I’m completely in love.Last night was something special. My first session with @hotandbothy, and their first sauna ceremony held in the space. The yurt holds the heat and scent in a way that feels cosy, intimate and grounded.Huge thanks to Callum and Oscar for the invitation and the warm welcome. The space they've created is simply magical. You can really feel the intention behind it. And to everyone in the room, thank you for showing up so openly and bringing such a lovely energy.Hot & Bothy is a special place 🧡 A beautiful wee wellbeing village with seriously good vibes. 100 Days. 100 Portraits.Day 48. 18th July. Callum.Yesterday, I took myself down the coast for a much needed solo-mental-reset outdoorsy day. First stop was a morning sauna session at @hotandbothy 🔥Here's owner Callum, who kindly agreed to sit for portrait number 48 - thank you! 🔥 Hot & Bothy: Plant Walk & Elemental Sauna Journey with Meg 🌿Hosted by Meg, 2026 British Aufguss Champion and certified Sauna Master, whose practice is deeply rooted in the elements and her connection to the natural world. We had theabsolute pleasure of joining her Aufguss sessions in Northern Ireland and some of you may have too in and around Edinburgh.This experience opens with a guided plant walk, where you’ll learn to identify the wild plants growing around you and discover how they can support your mind, body and soul ineveryday life. From there, you’ll move into a phone free elemental sauna journey, travellingthrough four rounds of Air, Water, Fire and Earth. Expect aufguss rituals with ice and floralinfusions, herbal whisking, breathwork, sound, guided lymphatic body work and nourishingskin and hair treatments, all held in a safe, caring and holistic space.Leave your phone with your things, pick up a pen instead of your camera, and give yourselfpermission to be fully present.Really excited for this! It might not be 30 degrees but it’s still set to be a stunning weekend! Come and explore the beautiful Archerfield estate and its stunning coastline & join us for a sauna - there’s still a few sessions available.Although we love the Scottish rain to cool us down after a session, we have to say being able to sunbathe on the grass in between is 👌 by @hotandbothy
