Sending buckets of gratitude to Shiloh, Andrew, Jesse and Michael of HOTKID for participating in an episode of Phoebe St. LIVE. We love documenting Canadian artists this way and appreciate y’all for tuning in. A big, warm shoutout as well to InTech Risk, Spy Cider House and Distillery and D’Addario for their continued support of our efforts to do so. Community is everything.
Episode 16, starring a certain sunny group that should brighten your day, goes live tomorrow morning and we can’t wait to share it with you. The shoot day was a happy and smiley affair. Who couldn’t use more of those vibes?

Peace, love and live music,
Rob Higgins (exec producer / host)

Good morning!
LIVE from Phoebe St., it’s … HOTKID!

@hotkband
@phoebestreetstudio

Once upon a time, three young women named Niva, Cheyenne and Paula started a band called Sticky Rice for fun and to show us boys they could it, too, if not better. And man, did they ever. HOTKID have a similar origin story.
Shiloh Harrison of HOTKID and her partner, Andrew DeVillers, who you may know from the group Mad Ones, aren’t just band leading songwriters, they also own Fortune Stellar Records. A local label that has released excellent albums by Rusty and By Divine Right as well as their own. It’s one of the reasons I have great respect for these folks. Their contributions to the community, their passion for the game and their commitment to it. And they have done the do. Coast to coast. Despite having important things on their plate like raising a human.

@madonesband

For Phoebe St. LIVE, HOTKID arrived as a four-piece. With drummer Mike dealing with a broken toe. Brutal. He sweated it out and the gang played some of their favourite jams. A determined, ‘fuck it let’s do this’ kind of performance that is very much in keeping with the spirit of the show. Enjoy!
