Tried to do things the respectful way.

We looked at a storefront in town that happened to be in the same building as a game shop. I even reached out directly beforehand to explain that we focus on comics, vintage and graded Pokémon, video games, vinyl records, and collectibles — not the tabletop stuff or Magic the Gathering they specialize in. I was told there wouldn’t be an issue.

Turns out they told the property owners they didn’t want us there because we were “competition,” and the space was denied to us.

So plans changed. We’re still opening a store in town… but now we WILL BE carrying MTG and Warhammer too. And yes, we’ll be competitive on pricing.

We wanted to coexist. Instead, we got motivated.
