Grave Yard Shift by M. L. Rio - Review!

Synopsis:

A mis-matched group of friends (acquaintances?) Bonded over bad habits and an abandoned church are met with strange secrets when a mysterious figure appears in their place of respite one night with an unexpected addition to the grave yard. As it all unravels, it leaves them with more questions than answers.

Review:

Though a short book, this one packs a nice punch! I really like the characters and the view given into each of their lives and the ways they intertwine, some more subtle than others. I became quite attached to our friend Tuck throughout the story, and left with mixed feelings about Hannah (Pity, confusion, suspicion) which I actually quite enjoyed.
The ending left me questioning what was happening and though I wish it was a little longer, I did enjoy it very much. I think it's worth the read for a short mystery to leave you wondering "What the hell is going on?!".

Overall rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

An intro review for my joining of booksta 🙊

One of my favourite books so far this year!
The way the characters grow on you despite their flaws is something I rarely get from a book and it really left an impression on me.
I also adored the style and format of the writing which made it feel eerily intimate.

Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
