Feeling Bobby feels when I look at this corner these days. Nannu’s matchbook collection, bright flowers (ty @buchanne c/o @pictusgoods), sunlight, the yellow chair, and new addition of a mini companion rocking chair (@maccoolsreuse) for his would-have-been bestie, C.

A re-do of C’s corner.

Since C is walking around confidently these days the baby gate set up we had before seemed a bit moot. As did the many mats.

I chose to keep half of the mats but fold them up as a seat, along with the other foam pieces we have. The bookcase from the floor went vertical again (it’s has had many lives) and it just needs to be secured to the wall. I opted to bring our beloved hairy chair to her space but also opted to give it a little protection with the blanket. Things need to stay functional!

Otherwise, the rug was moved from the hall, side table and standing lamp from the living room. Nothing new was purchased. The result: a more colourful corner with room to walk around but also hang and read.

Swipe through to see the before 👉🏼

Footnote: why the “S” if our kid’s name starts with a C? Good Q. by @housegnborg

Living room additions including a giant thrifted wool rug and a new centre piece by @mony.zak

And if you’re curious about the interesting but hard to place texture on our couch (is it boucle? They wondered)- it’s a very rare and artisanal treatment called “cats.”

Did a little project this weekend. I installed this light a few months ago but it felt like something was missing. I inherited some old lures from my dad that I wanted to showcase somehow. Once I had the idea, my pal Morgan also graciously donated to the cause.

The result is just the right level of kitsch (imo) meets modern lighting. taken in 12 Mile Lake, Minden, ON by @housegnborg
