Home baker & book lover 👩🏻‍🍳📚💕

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Get to know me! I’ve been posting for a couple of weeks now, so it’s about time I did a debrief 💕

I’m a huge foodie! As a child I always wanted to be a baker, whilst that didn’t happen, sharing what I bake and cook is a real passion of mine 👩🏻‍🍳🍰🧁🍪

Send me all your book recommendations! 📚 I’m in a bit of a slump at the moment so on a mission to find the enjoyment again

Martha and Jackson, my two Hungarian vizslas, will be making a few appearances! 🥰🐾

I’m lucky enough to live close to the Peak District. Always plan a walk with tea and cake (or a pint 🍻) at the end! taken in Chesterfield by @houseofbecko

Part 2- can I make a cake in an hour?

Spoiler alert- no. But not far off really 😏

You can’t beat a good Victoria sponge, with lashings of jam! Classic, made with love and a crowd pleaser 💕

If you’re getting into baking a cake slicer is a top gadget in my opinion, 100% recommend. Saves so much time, wonky cakes and crumbs going everywhere!

Yogurt isn’t just for breakfast!

My go-to is always Onken and I love to use it in curries or to make a quick flat bread.

There’s so many ways to use yogurt to elevate your meals 😋

Let me know how you like to eat it in the comments!

How long it took me to read Threshing Day, as a pretty slow reader, who is easily distracted by her phone

As soon as I knew my boyfriend was on a golf weekend, my plans were made and all other reading was on hold.

We had a blast, it’s done it’s job of breadcrumbing us until the next book is released and I’m here for it!

And yes, that’s how I like my toast.

Let me know what you thought! There’s definitely a LOT to unpack in this one.

M&S Custard Cream spread stuffed NYC cookies!!

If you saw my earlier stories, I hunted for this spread for a while so it’s about time I finally baked with it.

Happy baking! Let me know what filling to try next 😁😁😁
For any stuffed cookie, remember to freeze your spread filling beforehand so it’s ready to go when you bake.

Method
Cream your butter and sugar. Add in the vanilla and egg. Mix in all your dry ingredients to form the cookie dough and finally mix in your chocolate chips. From here divide into 10 cookies, about 90g each. Gently create a well in the dough into your hand, pop in your frozen dollop of spread and bring the cookie dough back around it. Bake on 180c for 11-13 minutes. Leave on the tray whilst cooling to finish cooking.

Ingredients
10 spoons of your chosen spread
125g butter
175g light brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
300g plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp bicarb
1/4 tsp salt
150g chocolate chips (I used milky bar buttons)

Summer Island by Kristin Hannah!

(Realise I’ve pronounced her name wrong somehow but this took me 10 attempts so, it is what is it)

A great easy beach read! Not the best Kristin Hannah from what I’ve read and heard but still a great book.

The story follows Nora who walked out on her marriage and two daughters, falling from grace as a beloved radio host and newspaper columnist after the tabloids unearth a scandal from her past. One of Nora’s daughters ends up caring for her during this time and together then unearth memories of love, joy and belonging.

It’s a story about love, hurt and rebuilding relationships. Realising that people aren’t perfect and learning how to forgive.

Consider me converted to @tofoo !!
These chocolate orange mousse pots are a great, unique way of trying Tofoo.

They’re super easy and quick to make, work great as a high protein prep item to start your week right and taste fantastic too!

What’s not to love?

Inspired by last weeks bake off episode, it had to be coffee and walnut cake! Gluten free for my mum before she actually disowns me 👀👀👀

I used Nigellas recipe for the first time but think a few tweaks are needed to get the G.F texture right.

Can’t wait to see what the challenges are in this weeks #gbbo episode!

My signature bake- Millie’s cookie dupes.
Great to freeze so you’ve got a sweet treat whenever you need one 🥰

Bake on 180 for 7-9 minutes. Trust the process and you’ll get that lovely soft cookie!
