Your next revenue stream might be your community.

For hospitality, wellness and lifestyle brands, there’s an opportunity to offer something beyond products and services.

Something people increasingly value: connection, shared experiences and a sense of belonging.

Think supper clubs, creative workshops, wellness gatherings, exclusive events and collaborations with like-minded brands.

When approached strategically, these experiences can do more than bring people together. They can encourage repeat visits, strengthen customer loyalty, attract new audiences and create additional revenue opportunities.

But community building isn’t simply about organising events.

It’s about understanding your customers, what connects them and how your brand can become a meaningful part of their lives.

The brands that create a sense of belonging give people a reason to return.

At House of Ward, we believe great brands are built through a combination of strategy, experience and design.

I’m curious, is building a community part of your business strategy?

Milford was the biggest studio project of the all 😮‍💨 we will have to share the before & after but it certainly took some doing. To see full classes now & people enjoying it makes it so worth while.

I couldn’t have done it without Klaudia @kwinteriordesignstudio who put my brief into motion. I wanted “earthy, natural and different textures of brown and Green”. Klaudia then also found these beautiful rust coloured chairs also which really tied in with the beautiful exposed brick we have.

It was so worthwhile working with a designer on this project as she put my ideas down and made the process so much smoother helping source items and creating mood boards. What a talented lady. Also I want to add Klaudia had literally just had a baby and despite this, went above and beyond. Always popping in (with the little man 👶🏻) always available.

Wow what a super mum, your work ethic is second to none. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to your dedication to this project. We appreciate you so much, you are so talented and now a new friend of ours 🤎 #interiordesign taken in Belper by @houseofward.studio

Britain lost an average of 3.4 licensed hospitality venues every day during the first quarter of 2026.

At the same time, 64% of surveyed hospitality businesses said rising costs would force them to cut jobs, while 51% expected to cancel investment plans.

For independent venues, this makes every investment decision more important.

Interior design still needs to create atmosphere and emotional connection. But it must also consider service flow, flexibility, capacity, customer behaviour and the moments that encourage guests to stay, spend and return.

The strongest hospitality spaces are not simply beautiful. They work hard for the business behind them.

What is the hardest working area in your venue, and which area is not doing enough?

Atmosphere is what makes people stay longer, remember a place, photograph it, talk about it and ultimately return.

Because good hospitality design should create more than just beautiful interiors, it should create an experience and that experience has commercial value. taken in Derbyshire, United Kingdom by @houseofward.studio

A new chapter for Staunton Stables.

This project is about more than refreshing an interior. We’re looking at how the space can better reflect the character of the business, create a stronger sense of place and support the way the café operates.

For Staunton Stables, that means creating a memorable, welcoming experience that feels distinctive, works efficiently and gives customers a reason to return.

A space shaped around the business, the customer and the experience.

More to come. Render of a building, cafe, interior design, commercial project taken in Ashby-de-la-Zouch by @houseofward.studio

A great hospitality business doesn’t have to rely on passing trade.
The strongest venues give people a reason to get in the car, make the journey, bring their friends and come back again.
Creating a destination isn’t just about beautiful interiors or good food. It’s about understanding your customer, creating a strong identity and thinking about the entire experience — from the moment someone discovers you to the moment they leave.
The goal?
Not just “that was nice.”
But “you HAVE to go there.” House of Ward, commercial interior design, hospitality strategy taken in Derbyshire, United Kingdom by @houseofward.studio

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is business owners assuming they have a marketing problem when they actually have a perception problem.

You can have the best coffee, the best treatments, the best menu or the best customer service in town.

But if your space doesn't reflect the quality of what you offer, potential customers will make assumptions before they've even experienced it.

Interior design isn't just about making a space look beautiful.

It's about building trust, shaping perception and creating an experience that people want to invest in.

The businesses that stand out aren't always the ones with the biggest marketing budgets.

Often, they're the ones that understand how powerful their environment is.

Working with @mariafowler_ & @megan.abbott_ at @bloomreformerstudio has been so much more than just another project 🤍

From the very beginning, there was a clear vision, passion, and intention behind what they were creating and bringing that to life through design was an absolute pleasure.
I didn’t just have the opportunity to design a high-quality reformer Pilates studio… I got to work with two incredible women who, along the way, became more like friends than clients.

And this is exactly where the magic happens, where a brand meets intentional design.
Because great interiors aren’t just about how a space looks…

They’re about how it feels, how it communicates, and how it elevates the entire brand experience for every single client walking through the door.

This is what brand-led design is all about. 🪄 taken in Belper, Derbyshire by @houseofward.studio
