Pilea peperomioides care: but first, swipe ➡️ to see it when I first bought it back in Jan 2018. 🥰🌱

My tips:

Get it in a spot out of the hot sun but where it can still see a large view of the sky. I prefer an east or north window (or some variation of that).

Wait until it’s pretty root bound to pot up. The roots are very delicate and it’ll struggle if you move it too often.

Water when completely dry but soak it completely when you do. A drain hole is non-negotiable. An airy chunky mix is preferred.

Fertilize while it’s growing, mine grows all year so I fertilize with foliage pro all year every time I water. Comment ‘fertilizer’ for the link.

Just make more instead 🤗 and yes, propagating a snake plant really is this easy, but it does take time! This was about 6 months or so of growth to be exact 🫠 sooooo start them now and you’ll have plenty next spring!

The one thing I’d change: I’d make the original cut in a ‘V’ shape so the leaf I used doesn’t have a straight edge (that will stop growing).

Key tips:
- tons of warmth and light
- a dark vase will cut down on algae growth
- refresh the water weekly
- add fertilizer when roots form

Yes you can put them straight in soil, I just haven’t had success that way indoors.

You could call it a ✨ slippery slope ✨

I can’t believe it’s been over a decade since I decided to start decorating & photographing my home with plants. It’s come a long way 😅 & we’ve also moved since then!

Crazy to think if I wouldn’t have started to share my plant journey this community wouldn’t be here. I’m so grateful for so many amazing people following along, sharing houseplant wins & losses, highs & lows!

It’s almost time! Comment ‘FALL’ for what I use & plan ahead for an easy houseplant summer to fall winter transition! All of these steps are optional but they’ve worked so well for me over the past 8+ years that I’ve been putting some of my houseplants outside for summer.

And yes, the trouble of bringing them inside is worth all the extra growth they get being outside all spring/summer! Most of my plants will almost double in size in that time!
