POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A beautiful morning spent in community — light bites, real conversations, and meaningful connection. Guided by Broga with Bougie Boardz, we took time to reflect and pour into one another. Our charcuterie-style gathering created space for laughter, vulnerability, and joy. There’s something powerful about women coming together with intention — and this gathering reminded us of just that.
Big thanks to @themediablock for hosting us in such a welcoming space by @houstonequityfund

We recently gathered for the HKD Supper Club — an evening where good food, deep convos, and meaningful connections filled the room. Chefs Dom Lee & Harold Villarosa served up flavor and soul, but it was the spirit of community that truly made the night special. We came together as strangers, friends, and colleagues, and left feeling full — in every way. by @houstonequityfund

Stories told. Struggles seen. Scars that shaped us. Strength that sustains us. March’s Lunch & Lift was a celebration of HERstory—our truth, our power, and the resilience that keeps us rising. We also honored the late Congressman Sylvester Turner, whose work paved the way for so many of us. His impact lives on. by @houstonequityfund

Today, on our first team field day of the year, we carried heavy hearts but steady purpose. As we worked in the community, visiting small businesses and nonprofits, we honored the vision Congressman Sylvester Turner championed—one rooted in service, equity, and opportunity for our people.

His leadership taught us that true impact is measured in the lives we touch, the doors we open, and the communities we uplift.

Congressman Turner, your work lives on, and your impact will never be forgotten. by @houstonequityfund

Honoring the Legacy of Congressman Sylvester Turner

Houston has lost a true champion. A visionary leader, tireless advocate, and devoted public servant, Congressman Sylvester Turner dedicated his life to uplifting the city and the people he so deeply loved. As our Honorary Chairman and the distinguished representative of the 18th Congressional District, Turner’s unwavering commitment to justice, equity, and economic empowerment left an indelible mark on Houston’s business community and beyond.

A native son of Houston, Turner’s journey from Acres Homes to the halls of power was a testament to perseverance and purpose. Throughout his life, Turner fought with intention and heart, ensuring that marginalized communities were seen.

His passing is a profound loss, but his legacy is everlasting. He leaves behind a city forever changed by his vision and an example of leadership that will continue to inspire generations. We extend our deepest condolences to his beloved daughter, Ashley, his family, his friends, and all who were touched by his life’s work.

Rest in power, Congressman Turner. We THANK YOU. Your light will never fade. by @houstonequityfund

Yesterday was a beautiful reminder of why we do this—community, connection, and real conversations that uplift and empower. Being in the room with brilliant women leaders, sharing space, stories, and support, felt like a homecoming.

We took a moment to pause and breathe with Take 5, grounding ourselves before diving into rich discussion. And a special shoutout to Dr. Gena on her birthday! 🎉 Her wisdom, presence, and care have been such a gift to this community.

Can’t wait for the next one! by @houstonequityfund

We started the year with an inspiring visit to the @miriamwalkercollection - a beautiful space rooted in Miriam’s powerful journey. Surrounded by her stunning, handcrafted jewelry pieces, we shared uplifting conversations about purpose, perseverance, and resilience. Supporting local businesses isn’t just about shopping—it’s about honoring stories, legacies, and the power of community. by @houstonequityfund
