Monique Steyn is bringing her incredible talent to A Festive Swing this December! 🎄

An award-winning singer and a familiar face on the South African music scene, Monique has built an impressive career across live performance, recording and television.

From her early days in Richard Loring’s Girl Talk 2000 to becoming a regular on the Afrikaans is Groot and Classics stages, Monique has established herself as a versatile performer. Her achievements include multiple Tempo Awards and a Ghoema Award, as well as mentoring two winning contestants on the popular singing competition Die Kontrak.

This December, Monique will share the stage with Ross Learmonth, Tracey-Lee Oliver and Harry Sideropoulos, backed by the 18-piece Johannesburg Big Band, for A Festive Swing - a Christmas spectacular filled with festive favourites, big band arrangements, outstanding vocals and plenty of Christmas cheer!

Harry Sideropoulos joins the line-up for The Most Wonderful Show of the Year this December! 🎄

An award-winning entertainer, actor, comedian and singer, Harry has spent more than 25 years entertaining audiences across South Africa and internationally. A three-time Naledi Theatre Award recipient, his stage career has spanned comedy, cabaret, revue and musical theatre, with recent audiences seeing him in two sold-out seasons of Howard Events' Swingin’ Las Vegas at The Teatro.

This December, Harry joins Ross Learmonth, Monique Steyn and Tracey-Lee Oliver, backed by the 18-piece Johannesburg Big Band, for A Festive Swing - a Christmas concert filled with festive favourites, big band arrangements, brilliant vocals and plenty of Harry’s trademark wit.

The Loeries finalists are out, and we’re very happy to see Howard Audio’s work represented across such a wide range of categories this year 🙌

From sound design and radio to original music and TV final mix, these four projects gave us the opportunity to work across very different parts of what we do.

For RMB’s “Ideas Love Company”, we contributed to the sound design.

For Showmax’s “The People vs. VBS”, we created the radio spots.

For the new Renault Duster “Howling Wind” campaign, we created the radio spot.

And for Chicken Licken’s “Soul Food To The World”, we composed the original music and handled the audio final mix.

Four very different pieces of work, across four very different briefs - and a great reflection of the range of work that comes through Howard Audio.

Congratulations to all the other finalists! 🏆

You know the voice. Now hear it with a big band! 🎺

Ross Learmonth joins the line-up for A Festive Swing this December.

Best known as the former frontman and songwriter of South African rock legends Prime Circle, Ross has spent more than two decades on stages around the world, with a voice that has become instantly recognisable to South African audiences. His latest chapter has seen him step firmly into his solo career, releasing new music and continuing to perform on some of the country’s biggest stages.

This December, he joins the 18-piece Johannesburg Big Band, conducted by Adam Howard, alongside Monique Steyn, Tracey-Lee Oliver and Harry Sideropoulos for The Most Wonderful Show of the Year.

Expect festive favourites, swinging jazz and classic big band sounds as A Festive Swing takes over The Teatro for eight performances only.

Tracey-Lee Oliver joins the line-up for The Most Wonderful Show of the Year this December!

Singer, actress and comedian, Tracey-Lee has built a career across television, film, theatre and live performance. From Dreamgirls and Aunty Merle: The Musical to The Voice South Africa, Diepe Waters and her award-winning performance in Duif, she’s become a familiar face - and voice - to audiences across the country.

This December, she joins the 18-piece Johannesburg Big Band, conducted by Adam Howard, alongside Ross Learmonth, Monique Steyn and Harry Sideropoulos for A Festive Swing.

...and it all ended in an epic after-party at the Valley of the Waves.

After a full day of music with the Egoli Symphonic Orchestra, there was only one way to end the evening.

Sharing the stage with @oskidoibelieve alongside @bezroberts, playing Zabalaza once again, was a special way to round off an already memorable production. We’ve all come a long way since those early Kwaito days, but some songs have a way of taking you straight back.

A brilliant night, a brilliant crowd, and another reminder of just how much South African music connects people.

A few on-stage moments from last week’s incredible production for @melaevents.

Belinda and I spent the week in @suncityresortsa with the Egoli Symphonic Orchestra, bringing another large-scale production to life.

Beyond the bespoke orchestral arrangements, I was on the podium conducting, working closely with the artists and musicians throughout the production, and even getting to spend a few moments behind the trumpet 😎

Productions like this only happen because of the people behind them. Huge respect to the entire @melaevents team, and to my creative partners @ginashmukler, @communitydave and @msutwanamonde. After three months of planning and rehearsals, it was incredibly rewarding to see it all come together.

A big thank you as well to the AV Unlimited team - Guillaume Ducray, Oliver Hauser @that.lighting.guy, Jason Green, and everyone working behind the scenes. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Straight off the back of Red Bull Symphonic, it was straight into another major production, for a massive corporate - with Mela Events @melaevents

Belinda and I spent the week at Sun City overseeing the musical direction, conducting the Egoli Symphonic Orchestra, and bringing together a large-scale live production before the evening culminated in an after-party performance.

One of the highlights for me was sharing the stage with Oskido @oskidoibelieve alongside Bez Robert @bezroberts.

Bez and I both go back to the Brothers of Peace days and the birth of Kwaito more than 25 years ago, so playing “Zabalaza” together again was a real full-circle moment. Some songs never lose their energy, and judging by the crowd, this is definitely one of them.

One of the things I’ve enjoyed most about this year is the unstoppable pace. Every time it feels like we’ve just finished something that will be hard to top, another project comes along that asks something completely different of us. That’s exactly the kind of challenge we’re building the Egoli Symphonic Orchestra and Howard Events for.

One of the things that made this year’s Red Bull Symphonic so special was knowing it reached far beyond the audience at Montecasino.

Seeing the show broadcast live on SABC 1 meant that millions more South Africans could experience what everyone on stage had been working towards for months.

It was a proud moment for the entire team.

It’s a show we’re incredibly proud to have been part of.
