REVAMPED After fracturing 2 of my vertebrae, breaking 2 ribs and puncturing my lung, I decided to take a year off street skating and just skate skate plazas and parks. I knew I was going to eventually get back out there, but I didn’t know what I was going to be able to accomplish if anything at all, but all it took was ledge sessions and I was back in it! I don’t know if I have ever felt as anxious as I did when releasing this section. I took a step back from the way I normally would skate and tried to figure out something new. I know this isn’t my all time best section, but I do know that I have never felt more proud about releasing one as I have this one. Overcoming the mental block after a major injury is no joke, but I am happy with how it turned out. I am beyond grateful for the friends that put in the hard work for this video, skating and filming wise. I owe most of this section to @itsmekenjiyee. He was there almost everyday in the trenches with me, giving me the chance to accomplish this section. During my time in Portland, I was struggling with my mental health quite often( seasonal depression is real) but durning the winter of 2018 there ended up being a lot of rare sunny weekends up in Seattle so I was heading up there a lot. One of my all time best friends @cartar_sauce and I put in some serious work taking advantage of these sunny days. This piece has a special place in my heart, and shows me that I am capable of getting through with the help of friendship, perseverance along with taking the right medication. This winter was the beginning of my journey in controlling my mental health. It wasn’t where it is today, but it was the start and showed me that I can get through some of those darker days. Thank you @cartar_sauce for always being there for me and all my homies over in the PNW. taken in Seattle, Washington by @howieson
