UX Considerations every Report Developer should know about.
When I build report mockups, AI tools often suggest fonts based on company branding. The result is usually subpar for analytical reporting, and sometimes a complete no-go.

Here are a few of my best tips to keep the choice logical and make sure your report estetics work 🙌🏻

Before AI:
We need clear answers.
We need clear definitions.
We need a clear division of tasks.

With AI:
Anyone can build anything.
Everyone knows a bit about everything.

So we need…
Clear answers.
Clear definitions.
Clear division of tasks.

Some things never change
…or just sightly ;)

If your boss or colleague needs to see this:
Save it or share it 💛

Power BI Developer role is changing fast and here are 4 skills worth learning before 2027 🙌🏻

1. TMDL View - your model as text. Change multiple measures at once, rename folders, update formats.
2. UDFs - write a calculation once, reuse it everywhere. New for Power BI, totally normal elsewhere.
3. MCP and AI Agents - give an AI agent tools to work with Power BI directly.
4. PBIP and Git - save as a Power BI Project, put it in Git, go back to any version or collaborate on the same report with someone else

Anything else to add?

Select multiple occurrences of the same word in the Power BI DAX editor - at once 🙌🏻

Rename a variable across your entire measure in one move. No more changing them one by one.

Most people using Copilot don’t know what it’s looking at when it answers.
Microsoft IQ is the context structure behind it.

Here is a breakdown:
🟠 Work IQ - your mail, calendar, chats, files and Dynamics 365 data.
🟢 Fabric IQ - your business data through semantic models.
🟣 Foundry IQ - your documents, SharePoint, PDFs and wikis.
🔵 Web IQ - the public web via Bing (limited access).

People only see what they already have access to - so the answer you get may be different than someone else’s (!)

Save this if you work with Copilot or AI agents in Microsoft
Share it so more people know it
