❤️The most important thing you’ll ever learn in life? Getting back up.❤️

You’re going to fall down, jump off, or take a flying leap off the wagon of your path in journey in life.

Sometimes you land on your feet and catch back up. Other times… you get smacked and land on your 🍑.

👍🏻 Today was my first day back in the gym after a rough couple of months that included pneumonia, bronchitis, bronchitis again, two iron infusions, and numerous other things. 🤬🤬🤬

The point is I got back and kept going.

Sure I’m not where I was… but I’m definitely not where I was a few years ago and I just looked at some old photos to remind myself.

I’M BAH-ACK! Back from #beantown (aka Boston) that is, where I stayed part of the trip at the most amazing hotel, Pineapple Boston. They have amazing beds, soft but firm pillows, and individual European duvets. Heaven after everything else that happened that week! But I made it through thanks to some of my amazing girls!

Now I’m recovering from a cold. 😝 Can’t wait to get back at the bar and do some lifting. How long do you wait to get back to working out after you’re sick?

FIRSTS.. Going to my first Mariner game in forever but more than that…
FIRSTS.. This is my first ever #mariners game without @jcarlyle87 The ultimate baseball and football lover. Catcher for over a decade. Attended his first game in the og #kingdome before it was blown up.
FIRSTS.. We’re celebrating the Eastern Eags without Jonathan. #goeags
FIRSTS.. Using noice-cancelling headphones to get me through events so my #tbisurvivor brain doesn’t get overwhelmed.

That’s a lot of FIRSTS in one day, but I’m still going because Jonathan wouldn’t let me do anything else.

Two days ago..
It was your birthday.
You would have been 35.
Now, you are locked forever
in my mind never to age.

You’re not supposed to do so many things.
But I am.
While I watch my family crumble under the weight of unbearable grief.
Because you would be pissed as hell if me if I didn’t.
Because you helped me make sure I could when you drove me to PT for two years, when you helped me get to the gym, when you helped me eat and live healthier, when you walked the dogs when I had a migraine, when you gave me a hug when I felt like I couldn’t go on, when you rubbed my shoulder and arm when the pain got so bad and I didn’t want to take more meds, when you flew to Dallas to drive home with me and then took care of my 4 days when I was violently ill, when you finished emptying the moving truck by yourself because I couldn’t walk anymore, when you finished the drive from Dallas because it was all I could do to not puke in the car, when you told momma I’d been n a bad accident when I asked you not too but you knew I needed her, when you called to make sure I was okay when world events rocked the world, when you drove me to two different surgeries to help repair my body, when you drove me to counseling to help with my PTSD, and when you taught me that I could carry on even if my life was drastically altered in the blink of an eye.

The trouble is now you’re asking me to carry on without you and it’s all I can do most days to curl up in a ball and just try to breathe because you aren’t here to tell me I can do this.

I admit.
I’m tired and scared.
I look for you.
I try to call you or text you.
I wake up begging God to make this not real.
To take me instead.
To do anything than make me live another day missing you.

But for you.. just for you.. I won’t quit.
Maybe some day I’ll have the strength to not quit for myself too.
Until then I’ll #keepmovingforward➡️
