6 hours on Falastine Street, chasing a frame that only exists in my head.

Somewhere along the way, I crossed a football field—kids playing, laughter filling the air. One of those unexpected moments that reminds me why I do this.

Later, I wandered into Al Balad, slowing things down with a bit of café hopping. Not every shot worked, but a few felt right.

And sometimes, that’s more than enough.

I spent years away from the camera, trading moments for meetings, and late-night edits for building something of my own @motosakadetailing .

Somewhere along the way, I forgot what it felt like to just observe to stand still and let life unfold in front of me.

This year, I found my way back.
Back to my second home. Back to the streets.

From Abha to Al Ula, the road wasn’t just distance it was a reminder. Strangers became guides, small conversations turned into stories, and every corner felt like it had been waiting for me to return.

I’m seeing things differently now. Slower. Closer. More honest.

Maybe I never really left just needed time to come back with new eyes.

I love Salahuddin Bakery's large triangular shaped Indian curry puffs (also known as Bengali curry puffs or karipap bai) that are loaded with fillings inside. Salahuddin's curry puffs remind me of my childhood when I used to buy them from Indian peddlers who sold them from wooden boxes strapped to the back of their bicycles.

Nowadays, it is difficult to buy these treats in Malaysia and Singapore, especially good tasting ones.
Fortunately, we in Johor are still able to get excellent Indian curry puffs from Salahuddin Bakery in old downtown JB. taken in Johor Bahru by @hpkpk

The mirror //

Do you feel bad for being not productive during this period? or do you feel bitter to see other people life that look better than yours? Well trust me, don’t be. This thing called social media sometimes is quite bad to our brain. All those humble bragging and toxic positivity will get you nowhere and leave you feel bitter instead

So don’t look too long and don’t look down if it’s just to make you feel better. I think we just gotta look ourselves in the mirror and be the one you’d loved to be without comparing yourself to other people. taken in Johor Bahru by @hpkpk

Childs Play in Jeddah // 2021

Saudi, a very familiar for me who grew up in this country. To be here for the long time is quite a surreal experience. Especially because it’s nothing of what i expected

Jeddah, the second city that i lived here, welcomed me warmly. Both the weather and also the people. Greeted with smiles. I walked around at Al Balas area. Explored cafe with a help from ( @raghad4_photography & @aida.dov ). The friendly locals, historical buildings and the night bazaar matched perfectly with the scene. And here i am, back to malaysia . Freezing those moments through my camera once again.

These are some everyday scene in Al Ula, in my opinion, winter makes everyone dressed good. I love to see people with coat, something that i don’t see a lot in my home country.

Showing respect to the people we photograph is my top priority in street photography. While taking this photo, I had to take a single frame with my lens so as not to disturb the subjects. taken in Al Ula Saudi Arabia by @hpkpk

A B&W thinking //

Recently, B&W pictures moved me more than it used to be. Strangely it feels more focus. It’s less but it’s full. It’s simple but it’s dramatic. When i realized that i started to open my harddisk to find some B&W photos that probably i took. Editing them makes me feel calm somehow.

Jeddah Stories // Jeddah wasn’t special before. I couldn’t say lot’s of things since i visited Jeddah for 4 months in 2017. Thise time is different. For almost 1 year i’ve been here, exploring, chilling and fall in love with it.

Let’s talk about the people. The locals here are so friendly! They are always smiley and i feel accepted as a tourist since they treat everyone the same. There are no minimum order in a restaurant with beautiful view. Something that so different in some of the nice restaurant in Malaysia. Oh well, let’s not to compare cause every places is different. taken in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia by @hpkpk

Jeddah Winter //

Stayed 1 year there and it wasn’t enough. It was summer with less tourist than winter. People tend go skip Jeddah because it’s a “overated” destinations. But to be honest for me it’s just so silly of have a chance to go to go to popular place but you don’t want to just because it’s popular.
There are reason why that place is well known and it doesn’t hurt to follow the flow and just to enjoy it in our own way.

For example, Jeddah is crowded but if you take your time and explore the little alleys and canals. It would be a nice experience and also less tourist! Magadddddd i really need to get back there! Right, @aida.dov ? taken in Jeddah Balad by @hpkpk
