The Purple Plate Project in actionšŸ½ļø

On Tuesday, MA-CBL students volunteered to collect surplus food from a High Point University dining hall and donate it to a local community partner.

The Purple Plate Project is a campus food-recovery initiative at High Point University designed to reduce food waste and fight local food insecurity. This project turns potential campus food waste into reliable meals for people in need around the High Point area.

Last Friday, CBL students took their presentation skills to the next level during a workshop focused on using powerful presentations to create meaningful impact.

Students learned how to:
• Transform a forgettable opening into an attention-grabbing strategy.
• Deliver concise executive briefings with confidence and composure.
• Step into the ā€œDecision Roomā€ and make recommendations that inspire a response.
• Build a three-minute Influence Briefing around a real idea or proposal.

A great opportunity for our students to strengthen their communication skills and learn how to make their words and ideas more memorable.

Hear about CBL graduate Emma Jones’s career success as a Management Trainee at Cintas First Aid & Safety.

šŸ’¬ā€15 months ago, I started my Management Trainee journey at Cintas with plenty of excitement, a lot of curiosity, and a desire to learn as much as possible. Today, I’m proud to celebrate that chapter!

Over the past year and three months, I’ve had the opportunity to work across different teams, gain exposure to various areas of the business, take on challenging projects, and collaborate with incredibly talented people. Each rotation brought new perspectives, valuable lessons, and opportunities to grow both professionally and personally.

One of the biggest takeaways from this experience is that growth rarely happens within your comfort zone. The moments that challenged me the most were often the ones that taught me the most. I’ve learned the importance of staying curious, asking questions, embracing uncertainty, and remaining open to feedback.

Looking back, I’m grateful for how much I’ve learned, the relationships I’ve built, and the confidence I’ve gained along the way. As I transition into my next role, I’m excited to build on this foundation, continue growing, and take on new challenges!

Thank you to everyone who has been part of these past 15 months. Here’s to the next chapter!ā€ by @hpucbl

Hear about CBL graduate Merran Decker’s career success as a Show Performer at Netflix House Dallas @netflixhouse

šŸ’¬ā€A week ago, we said goodbye to Hawkins at Stranger Things: Face the Dark, as this incredible chapter came to a close. Seeing this show come to life at Netflix House from the very beginning to the very end has been surreal and the most wonderful first post-grad job a girl could ask for. Thank you to this cast, crew, and leadership that have inspired me every day with dedication, talent, and commitment.
Thank you to Jeffery M. & David Wally for trusting me with this opportunity, and Eric Mahoney. for your leadership. Thank you to Chrishuara Haynie for your wonderful training sessions and D Noelle Carter for being the sweetest first person I met during Netflix House auditions. And thank you to every citizen who joined the search and rescue in Hawkins. It was a joy performing for you! I will always be grateful to have been part of something so special and to have performed alongside such talented friends. I already miss Penelope and those curls, but playing this character has challenged and inspired me to grow so much, both as a person and as a performer. As sad as goodbye is, we can’t wait to show you what we’re working on next at Netflix House!ā€ by @hpucbl

Hear about CBL graduate Ryan Weigand’s career success!

After only five months at Mission Mobile Medical, Ryan was recognized as August’s Leader of the Month!

šŸ’¬ ā€œAugust was probably one of the hardest months of my professional career. Yet, I wouldn’t change a single thing about it.
I have the privilege of being named the Leader of the Month for August at Mission Mobile Medical following a month full of challenges, growth opportunities, and real successes.
From planning our involvement at the NACHC CHI conference to serving as lead coordinator for the Global Mobile Medical Associations Mobile Health Leadership Summit, August pushed me to be the best version of my professional self.
This wouldn’t have been possible without the people who backed me here at Mission Mobile Medical. A few shout-outs: Neil Rotroff, Tara Shiozawa, and Chelsea Wood, for being a marketing team that makes the work better and pushes me to think past the obvious answer.
Brad Watson, for being a leader and mentor who encourages me to run with my ideas and pursue the work that interests me most.
And Travis LeFever and Amanda LeFeve, for seeing the potential early and building the room for me to grow into it.
Hardest month of my career, and now the one I’m proudest of.ā€ by @hpucbl
