The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports bass fishing team puts the finishing touches on the 2025-26 season when it heads to the final segment of the Bassmaster College Series events this weekend.

The third tournament in the College Series Lunkers Trail series is being held at the James River in Richmond, Va. The James River is the longest in the Commonwealth of Virginia and extends from the Appalachian Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay (340 miles) and covers nearly 25 percent of Virginia.

The event marks the final tournament for the HPU Intercollegiate Club Sports bass fishing team, which also took part in events at Lake Okeechobee and Santee Cooper Lakes earlier this year.

Two Panthers—Cole Mitchell and Leo Goldman—will represent the team this weekend at the event.

Over the weekend, the High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports bass fishing head coach Bill Frazier led the BassMaster Open by Turtlebox at Lake Norman.

Along with Coach Frazier, the HPU ICS bass fishing team was also represented by weighmaster John Bagdasarian, who can be see representing HPU and its ROTC program. Also participating was Kevin Stills (blue jersey), who served as camera boat on Friday and Saturday and as the control point at the oxygen tanks (blue jersey) on Thursday. by @hpufishing

The High Point University Intercollegiate Club Sports bass fishing team completed the second of a three-tournament series hosted by the Bassmaster College Series on Thursday evening at the Santee Cooper Lakes in Clarendon, S.C.

The event, which was limited to one day of competition due to inclement weather on Wednesday, included 205 teams. Three of those teams were from High Point University.
