A monogram pressed into wax once meant someone was willing to put their name behind their words.

Our monogram design brings this to the modern day; showing you earn a reputation through what you do, keep your word and surround yourself with people who hold themselves to the same standards.

That’s what Merchants for the Motivated means to us. And our community lives by this every single day.

Wear the mark with pride. by @hr4k_

Join us for 𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐅𝐋𝐀𝐌𝐄, an immersive masterclass following venison through the next stage of its journey, from whole carcass to carefully prepared cuts, and finally onto the plate.

Hosted at @hr4k_ and sponsored by @patrolgoods this event brings together experts in butchery, cooking and knife craft for an afternoon dedicated to understanding one of Britain’s finest wild meats and the skills needed to make the most of it.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐔𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐘 — 𝐀𝐋𝐈 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐋
Ali Campbell will take on a whole deer, demonstrating how the carcass is broken down and explaining the different cuts as he works.

You’ll learn where each cut comes from, what it’s best suited to, how to minimise waste and how proper, simple butchery can transform the way you approach venison.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 — 𝐏𝐀𝐔𝐋 𝐆𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐇𝐄𝐑
Once the best cuts have been prepared RAF veteran and former senior chef to Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace, Paul Gallagher takes over.

Paul will demonstrate how to prepare and cook venison, sharing techniques for getting the very best from different cuts and creating incredible food without overcomplicating it.

𝗣𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹'𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐊𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐒 — 𝐁𝐄𝐍 & 𝐋𝐎𝐈𝐒 𝐎𝐑𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐃, 𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐓 𝐋𝐀𝐁
A job is only as good as the tools you use.

Handmade woodcraft and bushcraft toolmakers Ben & Lois Orford of Craft Lab will explore the knives used throughout the process, from choosing the right blade for the job to sharpening, maintaining and caring for your knives.

Expect practical knowledge from people who understand what makes a genuinely good working knife and build their tools by hand.

𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐓 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐒
Your 𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐅𝐋𝐀𝐌𝐄 ticket includes access to the masterclass, opportunities to ask questions throughout the day, a drink on arrival and venison tasters prepared by Paul Gallagher.

1st November • 10am • HR4K Hereford • 40 spaces available

What do we know about traumatic brain injuries, and what are we still missing? Join us for a discussion exploring traumatic brain injury (TBI) in military populations with researcher Savannah Thompson.

We’ll look at the different types of TBI, what the science currently tells us, and - importantly - where the gaps remain. We’ll explore mild TBI (mTBI) not simply as a single-event injury, but as a potentially cumulative disorder associated with repeated exposures over a military career, and consider the symptoms and longer-term effects that can follow.

The session will also introduce emerging research investigating the biological consequences of cumulative mTBI, including findings from post-mortem research involving former U.S. Navy SEALs and new work examining the potential role of inflammation in living participants with histories of repeated exposure.

An accessible introduction to a complex and rapidly developing area of military brain health - for anyone interested in what we know, what we don’t, and how you can get involved in where some of the research is heading.

An old expression with a straightforward message that still holds up : stop wasting time in indecision. You either commit (“fish”) or stop blocking the way and quit (“cut bait.”)

There comes a point where thinking, planning and talking about what you’re going to do has run its course. You either get on with it, or get out of the way.

Fish or Cut Bait is your reminder to stop dreaming and take action. Available now on the website. by @hr4k_
