On Deck Academy is proud to announce the commitment of Tanner Jones (2027 On Deck O’s/Hickory Ridge HS) to Coker University! Tanner has worked tirelessly to become a well-respected and highly competitive player who brings tremendous value to his team in many different ways. He is a solid infielder and a productive offensive player. Tanner understands the game and consistently demonstrates a willingness to execute based on the situation and need of his team. He is a selfless player and an exceptional teammate. Tanner is also a talented pitcher who helps his team in a variety of roles. He is a reliable strike-thrower who attacks the zone fearlessly. He possesses phenomenal command and he is always ready to take the ball and compete. Congratulations to Coach Kondla, Coach Gallman, and the entire Coker University coaching staff on landing an outstanding student-athlete for this recruiting class!

We would also like to congratulate Tanner and his parents, Jenny and Brian, on this impressive achievement. On Deck Academy appreciates the efforts of Coach Sells and the HRHS Coaching Staff during Tanner’s developmental and recruitment process. After going 27-4 last season, these boys have started off the summer strong and dedicated with 17+ guys showing up each day

Missed the state championship by one game last year and these boys refuse to let it happen again!

Hudson Hatley 27’ (uncommitted) got the start for Hickory Ridge in a winner takes all Game Three. Hatley was outstanding, shutting out a powerful Marvin Ridge lineup through 5 innings. Hatley finished with a final line of 5.0ip 1 run 3 hits and a handful of strikeouts. A tough of swing and miss stuff out of Hatley, Friday evening.
