Hard to believe this golf journey just keeps getting better each year. As 2025 wraps up, I’m incredibly grateful for the game and the community.

91 rounds, 22 new courses, countless new friends, an epic NY/NJ trip, Texas golf, and finally checking off every @mcconnelgolf course with Holston Hills. Somehow kept the index in the low singles—looks like a 5.0 to close the year 🤷🏾‍♂️.

Loved hosting golfers at Sedge and was lucky to be hosted at so many great places myself. Huge thanks to everyone who supported my first ball marker with @c3customgolf and to everyone who liked, commented, or shared along the way.

2023 will be impossible to forget. A LOT (130) of rounds played, achieved a career low index (2.3), a ton of new playing partners and played some awesome, first-time courses. Had some really nice runs of great golf and that made for some fun golf. Never thought I’d score under par, but managed to do so (68) this year…and that’s just how golf goes. Sometimes you swing ‘em good and sometimes you don’t. Every now and then you end up on some of the best courses the world has to offer but what’s most important is that you enjoy the ride. Just a kid from Farmville, VA who never expected any of it. Cheers to everyone embracing their journey. I hope that 2024 brings everyone peace, prosperity and plenty of birdies. Swinging right into ‘23, but I could never forget what 2022 had to offer. 97 rounds played on the year, at some EPIC courses, and somehow managed to get my handicap down to a personal best 4.7 at one point. I’d say the highlights were the courses I got to play, but it was truly who I got to play with. Thank you to everyone who made the year special, whether it was hosting me at your club or joining me at mine (s/o @sedgefield1926). Also, thanks to everyone whose given me an opportunity to collaborate this year - @michelobultra, @titleist, @rhone, @lamkingrips, @c3customgolf @barnttmedia and @thebossgolfsphotography - giveaway coming soon! When my favorite city and favorite hobby intertwine, you get golf in Asheville, NC. More specifically, PGA TOUR golf and the inaugural Biltmore Championship at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.

A beautiful city, a beautiful golf course, a lot of your favorite golf personalities, the world’s best players, and a stay at an incredible property — The Inn On Biltmore Estate. I was fortunate enough to be invited to play in their very first Pro-Am, and I’m still buzzing.

Incredible playing partners in @cmshaw9 and @patdimarco42 , and awesome pro pairings in @bladesbrown and @kevin_kisner . We gave the podium a heck of a run, but came up a couple strokes short.

The course is absolutely dialed, the vibes are high, and it’s looking like the scores will be low. Go out and watch for a day or two and tell them I sent you.

Thank you to @wlscott79 @biltmoreestate and @biltmorechampionship for having me out, and to everyone I got to fellowship with during my stay.

Get you a room at the Biltmore, enjoy the golf tournament, take in Asheville, and make a weekend of it. You won’t regret it.

Told a few people I was making a summer trek to Arizona for some golf, and just about everyone questioned the timing — summer heat — and then whether or not I had @quinterogolfclub in the lineup. Quintero is widely considered the best public option in the state, and I’d say it’s pretty hard to top. But what my fellow golf brethren didn’t mention was just how penal this course can be if you don’t find the short grass. Miss a fairway and you’ll likely be looking at a lost ball and/or a higher-than-desired score. Good thing I pride myself on being pretty accurate off the tee 😎. An early morning tee time was clutch, the course was in INCREDIBLE shape for the “off season,” and the staff was as hospitable as any golfer could hope for. Add this one to your list if you find yourself in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area with your clubs in tow. I always try to visit somewhere special for my birthday, and The Estancia Club certainly fit the bill this year. While desert golf in the dead of summer may not have been the most well-thought-out decision, it’s one I’d make again and again for this course. The tee shots were fair, the greens were full of character, the elevation changes kept things exciting, and the course was beautifully manicured despite it being the “off-season.” Throw in outstanding on-course amenities, a beautiful clubhouse, and an incredible staff, and you have a truly world-class experience. It’s easy to see why The Estancia Club is regarded as the best course in Arizona and one of the best in the country. A huge thank you to an incredible host and to @fitchemist88 for braving the heat with me on an unbelievably hot day. This is one you drop everything to play, no matter the weather. There’s a new golf course in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, designed by Lester George, and it’s a name I’m sure you’ll be hearing a lot more of: Contentment Golf Club. @contentmentgolf wants you to feel right at home, and it certainly delivers. This Lester George design does a fantastic job blending classic template holes with modern strategic golf. There are several drivable par 4s, beautifully contoured greens, and a well manicured course that winds through the mountains. The green complexes are incredibly challenging, and I can’t wait to see them rolling at tournament speeds 😳. The tee shots are fair but engaging, with severe consequences for big misses. You’ll need every club in the bag and every part of your game if you want to score. The facilities are top-notch, the staff is incredibly welcoming, and the culinary team prepares everything to perfection. I can’t say enough good things about this place, but the green complexes alone will have you wanting to book a replay round before you leave. If you get the opportunity, this is an absolute must-play. HUGE thanks to my incredible host and s/o @mind_body_fitnessnc for making the trek with me! About an hour southeast of Asheville, you’ll find Bright’s Creek Golf Club in Mill Spring—arguably the most underrated golf club in the state. @brightscreek is beautifully manicured, visually stunning, and filled with great golf holes that wind through the mountains, it offers a great balance of birdie opportunities and holes where par feels like a win. The practice facilities are top notch, the staff is welcoming, and the clubhouse has a nice vibe. If you get the chance, put this one on your list. Came for the golf, stayed for the history, and hope to be back soon to take it all in again. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better walk than at Oakland Hills Country Club on a beautiful early-summer morning. The routing and challenge of this classic Ross design are enough to make any golf nerd smile. The fairways seem generous but demand accuracy, and the uphill approaches to many greens make for a tough day if you have more than a mid-iron in hand. Every hole is strong and equally demanding. If you find yourself in Michigan, this is absolutely a must-play.

Rainy season in Michigan, but I promise the courses are absolutely dialed. The Bluffs Course at Arcadia Bluffs is one of the best public golf experiences in the country and easily one of the most fun I’ve played. Tons of elevation changes, engaging shots throughout, and unbelievable Lake Michigan views on nearly every hole. We made it through 15 before a storm rolled in, but thankfully were able to finish after a brief suspension of play.

Would love to get on the South Course next time. If you’re anywhere near northern Michigan, @arcadiabluffs is absolutely a bucket-list stop. Everything is bigger in Texas - and apparently harder, too. Take a very reasonable trek (for golf) west of Houston and you could find yourself at one of the most demanding courses in the state: Maridoe Golf Club. Challenging tee shots, fast greens and some of the scariest shots around the greens you could think of. BUT - I promise you it’s a whole lot of fun, especially with the right playing partner/s. Huge thanks to fellow @friarsgolfclub member @smoothjazzcowboy for the day - it’s one I’ll talk about forever. The vibes were insane, the game was exciting and the drinks were equally as fantastic. Check this one out if you’re in that part of the Lone Star State. I promise you won’t regret it.
