This show, “Paper as Politic”, ends Friday, April 24. DMV peeps, it’s really a good exhibition! GO see it! 4515 Patriot Circle, Fairfax, VA (on the GMU campus in the arts building Gillespie Gallery … park in the Shenandoah garage).

My work, “Natural Associations”, a translucent paper and fiber mixed work, is there to be seen from all around, as intended.

“The Stained History of the Tea Trade” was selected for “Steeped”, this year’s annual juried show at Strathmore Mansion in North Bethesda, Maryland, which runs Mach 7 - April 22, 2026. This work is made from the papers of tea bags that were steeped, then emptied, opened up and stitched together with golden thread, and embellished with golden teardrop-shaped sequins. The history of the tea trade is indeed sadly stained. “The Stained History of the Tea Trade” may be seen at the 34th Annual Juried Exhibition, “Steeped”, at Strathmore Mansion now through April 22. W 8.5” x H 28” (w/fringe)

This translucent work is of tea bag papers, golden thread, ink, and teardrop-shaped sequins. The history of the tea trade is rife with worker exploitation, outright theft, war, and … Well, we should be mindful of a terrible past so we can make the future better.

Exhibition hours are Tuesday through Friday, noon - 4:00 pm, and Saturday, 10 am - 3:00 pm. by @hstonefineart

“So the River Flows” departs from its companions in my studio to go on show at the State Circle Gallery in Annapolis, Maryland, October 31 - November 22. The show is titled “Transformed,” and juried by NYC-based artist, Jaynie Crimmins (who selected 65 works out of 211 submitted).
