NEWS: A new concept built around healthy comfort-food bowls will open its first location at Horseshoe at Hub RTP in 2027! Little Barrow will offer a quick-service menu centered on build-your-own grain bowls made with high-quality, whole ingredients, free from seed oils, refined sugar and gluten, and mostly free of dairy.

Owner Bruce Kramer, a Durham resident and entrepreneur, believes most health-focused food leaves people wanting more. He’s creating Little Barrow to prove that you can have bold, satisfying and substantive food that is also incredibly good for you.

Little Barrow will open across the paseo from @cheenirtp, adding another fresh, flavorful option to the growing food and beverage lineup at Hub RTP.

A quick look at the public art adorning Horseshoe 🎨

1. The Great Blue Heron by @taylorwhitestudio

This 1,243 sq ft mural on our parking garage features a Great Blue Heron, native to North Carolina and symbolic of tranquility, patience and peacefulness. The design transitions from a natural landscape at the base to abstract technological elements within the heron’s body, illustrating the connection between nature, imagination and innovation—a reflection of the forward-thinking spirit that defines the RTP community.

I’m happy to announce I’m teaching a hands-on boro and sashiko stitching workshop at Hub RTP this September.
My own work is built from reclaimed textiles, stitched and layered by hand using many of these same traditions. This class is a chance to slow down and share the technique directly, hands on fabric, rather than just talking about the finished work.
Boro is a centuries-old Japanese textile tradition born from necessity, patching and stitching worn fabric layer by layer instead of throwing it away. We’ll touch on that history and the idea of wabi sabi, finding beauty in imperfection, before getting into the stitching itself. You’ll learn the running stitch and about patch attachment, then start your own piece with a mix of provided fabric scraps. Feel free to bring something from home with personal meaning too, an old shirt, worn jeans, anything with sentimental value. That’s very much in the spirit of boro.
Beginners of all skill levels welcome, ages 10 and up, all supplies provided. Space is limited, so grab your spot early if you want to join.

Concerts on the Creek returns with Rissi Palmer.

Durham's own Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter brings her country and Americana sounds to the Hub RTP Stage. She's played the Grand Ole Opry, the Apollo and Lincoln Center. On Sept. 12, she's playing for us.

Stop by, bring a chair and enjoy some live music. Free and open to everyone.

@canes defenseman Jaccob Slavin (@jslavin74) is entering the restaurant biz. @primebbq and @primo_latincuisine founder + pitmaster @christopher_prieto announced today the Stanley Cup champ will be his new business partner for @primestq, the barbecue-meets-steakhouse concept on track to open at @horseshoertp in Spring 2027. ⁠

“My family and I love this community. It’s why we choose to stay here year-round, it truly feels like home," said Slavin. "Being part of Prime STQ gives us another way to show up for people, pour into this community, and live out the values that we are called to live."⁠

The 8,000-square-foot restaurant will boast indoor and outdoor seating for 250, plus a private dining room overlooking the pit room—while the food marries Prieto's award-winning ’cue with a classic steakhouse experience, reflecting his Texas roots, NC home and Puerto Rican heritage.⁠

This month's art series is a hands-on deep dive into tarot. Artist Shady Kimzey will discuss the history of playing, tarot and oracle cards, lead the group in card reading and demonstrate collage techniques for participants to create art inspired by the cards.

Juneteenth at @hubrtp was a beautiful celebration of freedom, culture and community! We shopped from Black-owned businesses and food trucks, line danced and enjoyed local performances. There were a ton of fun activities for all ages like yard games, selfie station, RTP community booths, face painting and more. This was such a fun-filled way to honor the legacy of liberation and freedom!
