Thirst traps, body positivity, and gay men… let’s talk about it. 👀

We say we love confidence. We celebrate body positivity. We encourage everyone to embrace their bodies and feel sexy in their own skin. But scroll through gay Instagram for five minutes, and you might notice that some bodies get a LOT more love than others.

So here’s the uncomfortable question: are we celebrating body confidence, or are we celebrating the bodies that already fit the beauty standards of gay culture?

There’s nothing wrong with posting a thirst trap, enjoying attention, or being proud of the body you’ve worked hard for. But if we preach body positivity, shouldn’t that acceptance extend to the men we don’t personally find attractive, too?

I’m genuinely curious where you stand on this one. 👇

October is here, and I’m ready for cozy nights, oversized sweaters (occasionally 😏), and making the most of spooky season. Our first ever public drag performance 🥹✨ and honestly, we couldn’t have dreamed of a better experience.

Thank you, @laolaobar , for giving us a space to share this part of ourselves, and to everyone who showed up, cheered us on, and made us feel so loved. ❤️ The energy, the support, the smiles… the crowd was EVERYTHING. You made what was already a huge moment for us feel truly unforgettable.

What an incredible first pop-up dinner experience for Chef Huey! 🥢✨

Eight strangers sat down around the same table, and somehow by the end of the night it felt like we’d all known each other much longer. Great food, lots of laughs, amazing conversations, and one seriously fun group of people.

Huey got to share his Vietnamese fusion cooking with a table full of people who came as strangers and left with full bellies, new stories, and hopefully a few new friends. ❤️

Watching him bring his food to life and seeing everyone enjoy it was pretty damn special.

First pop-up dinner: officially a success. And if this is what happens when eight strangers get together around Chef Huey’s table… I think we’re going to have to do this again. 🍜🥢 So proud of you 🥹 taken in Toronto, Ontario by @huey_david

I am sorry. I am not gonna post fun stuff for a while. I just need to sit in with my emotions and keep going. There is just so much you don’t realize until they are gone. I think it’s harder because they are part of everything literally, I also need to miss her, even if we have to keep going and move on. People try to cheer you up by telling you it will get easier over time, but I don’t want to, feeling this pain if what make me feel her close. Some people use clumsy words and tell you she was just a pet or that you gotta snap out of it, but reality is that she was my soul dog. She was exactly what I needed, the cuddles, the quirks, the feisty personality, she was everything I needed in the worst and best time of my life. #souldog by @huey_david

Today, we said goodbye to the best good girl there ever was. 🤍

For 13 amazing years, Charlotte filled our lives with her little personality, her quirks, her love, and a kind of happiness that only she could bring. She may have been small enough to fit in one hand when we first met her, but somehow, she grew into one of the biggest parts of our lives.

She chose us all those years ago, and she was right. We were meant to be family.

Charlotte made our lives better simply by being in them. She gave us 13 years of memories, laughter, comfort, unconditional love, and so many little moments that we will carry with us forever.

Today hurts more than I can put into words. But if loving her this much is the price of having had her for 13 years, I would choose it all over again.

Thank you for choosing us, Charlotte. Thank you for being our girl. Thank you for making our lives so much more beautiful just by being here.

Run free, my sweet girl. You were, and always will be, the best good girl ever. 🐾🤍

13 years ago, Charlotte could stand in one hand.

She was the quirkiest little doggo there, and somehow, out of everyone, she chose me. She ran straight toward me and happily chewed on my fingers, as if she was trying to tell me, “Yep. You’re mine now.” And she was right. We were family. Forever.

For 13 years, she has been beside me through so many chapters of my life. She grew older, her little body changed, but she was always my Charlotte. My little shadow. My weird, funny, stubborn, beautiful girl.

Today is her last day.

And honestly, it is one of the most difficult days of my life. But I don’t want today to be about the sadness. I want it to be about her. About making her last day as happy, peaceful, spoiled and full of love as I possibly can.

Because she gave me 13 years of unconditional love. The least I can do is give her one more day where she knows, without a doubt, just how deeply she is loved.

So today, I’m going to hug her a little tighter. Kiss her a little more. Spoil her a little more. And hold onto every little moment I get.

If you have a pet you love, go hug them. Tell them you love them. Give them the extra treat. Let them sleep a little closer. Take the picture. Make the memory.

Because we never know how many little moments we have left.

And every single one counts.

I love you, Charlotte. You chose me 13 years ago, and choosing you has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

You were right.
