Parksgiving is just around the corner! Century Gardens will be our home base, with the fall trees, waterfall in the park, and lots of food for all who come. We hope that the weather is going to keep us warm, but bundle up just in case! Come out for the music, good food, and community. Everyone is welcome!

We're beaming ahead in hopes of feeding it forward BIG this year! With presale tickets already surpassing last year's event we knew we better double our order of Thanksgiving Pies from @piejunkieyyc. Each meal comes with a slice of their festive multi-layered savoury pie baked to golden perfection. Two seasoned side dishes, one using Alberta's own @littlepotatoco "Spuddies", and the other meticulously prepared for us by Lucio & Barbara (Owners) @italianoplease.yyc Fresh from the kitchen that morning we'll have Fry Bread from local artisan(Clarissa). Top it off with a slice of @piejunkieyyc sweet pie and Columbia's finest brew courtesy of Orlando (owner) of @altamontanacoffee. Melba's crew will be on hand to present some of their newest soaps and hygiene products straight from @bownesssoapworks. The partners being brought in for this event have been carefully cultivated over several years. We stand by each other as local social entrepreneurs and absolutely have each other's backs! I'm so privileged to have gotten to know these fine folks and you should check out their insta pages as well! Shop local by supporting Calgary's thriving giving economy. @princess_auto North has supplied some winter ready items for our donation centre and you can as well. If you're heading down to hang with us please consider bringing those old mitts, toques or other related items to our site for others to shop with dignity. Thank you @cityofcalgary for helping us land the Downton in Motion grant which is allowing us to amplify the music and arts stage this time around! @calgaryparks for permitting us to operate at Century Gardens and to @parksfdncalgary - let's get in contact soon to begin looking at ways to help each other make next year's event even more inclusive! Urban Street Art Legend @nokkelen will be throwing up a large Huggabowl piece on customized backboards to be reassembled onsite at our First Base Community Dinner venue. @calgaryunitarians and @deanstanton1 our will be creating a live community mural! @communitysolidaritycalgary @downtowncalgary @mike__atkinson_ @cherryd @yycconfedlibs @lizettendp @ags.yyc @innfromthecold @alphahousecalgary Art by @ratspire taken in Calgary, Alberta by @huggabowl

Parksgiving is ultimately about giving back, taking care of the people around us, and enjoying community that we all build. Along with the food - available to everyone, and the music and art, we will have a donation table with winter clothes, hygiene items, and potatoes from @littlepotatoco to give away to folks who need some support to get through winter.

We’re hoping to build this event into more than a meal, so every ticket and donation goes right into the community we all live in. We couldn’t do it without your help and the help of the many organizations that support us along the way! Thank you to all of the following and many more!

We are just over a week out from our keystone event - Parksgiving! A community meal, live music, donations for the cold weather, and artists, all together in Century Gardens Park downtown. Tickets by donation are available to buy two meals at the link in our bio, but this event is welcome to all, no matter if you buy a ticket or not.

A large part of this event is able to happen because of the City of Calgary Downtown in Motion Grant, giving us the ability to host the community in a bigger and more meaningful way than years past. Thank you for all your help and support!

Meet Reginald. After a valiant effort he was overtaken by the fry cook who first soaked him in a glutamate bath before tossing refined wheat over his still dripping body. If that wasn’t enough he was then drowned in burning oil until his face became the perfect golden brown/yellow. He asked me to share his final words with you all. “Please don’t eat me with ketchup, I’m sweet enough as is.” His final will was respected.

The time is coming for us to get together for our keystone event, Parksgiving! On October 10th join us in Century Gardens downtown for a community meal with live music, artists, and a place to gather.

Every ticket buys a meal for you and for someone else attending, so you are feeding it forward with every purchase.

Link is in our bio to get all the information you need, buy tickets, or to donate two meals for people attending. Excited to see you there!
