RUN AGROUND COLLECTION LOOKBOOK

The Aral Sea began to shrink rapidly due to evaporation of water that was no longer being replenished. The salt and mineral content of the lake rose drastically because of that, making the water unfit for drinking purposes and killing off the ecosystem in the lake. The fishing industry along the Aral Sea was thus virtually destroyed. Winds blowing across the exposed seabed produced dust storms that buffeted the region with a toxic dust contaminated with salt, fertiliser, and pesticides.

Once a sea, the area suddenly transformed into a desert, forcing people to adapt and survive in the new environment.

The fishermen embarked on expeditions to find potable water in the desert, always carrying hydration packs with them. Their clothing was also designed to accommodate hydration packs. The traditional fisherman's attire was newly transformed to protect against the desert's sandstorms and scorching sun, and their original boots were improved to be optimised for the desert's sand dune terrain.
