Stockman’s Rally yesterday was an absolute blast! The new bike did great - I started the event with it pretty clean, and only 3 hours on it since new, and by the end it was pretty nice and dirty 😆
Very happy with it though!

Just one step in a progression toward many more skills that I’m wanting to get under my belt! Have got this happening fairly cleanly now - in a nice short distance, and closer to my body than in my last post, useful for pivot turns. by @hughproject

Still working on these front wheel lifts for pivot turns etc. This first one nearly got away from me - working on getting the bike up in as short a distance as possible, so it doesn’t move away from me too much. Proving to be quite hard - but am getting there. Requires all in commitment with fully releasing the clutch just as you’re coming off the throttle to “pop” it up quickly.
Similar technique to the double-blip technique actually - but that one’s another challenge on my radar once I’ve got this one under control 😆 by @hughproject

The BEFORE and AFTER! I wanted to build a “Sandraiders” style XR400 - and this thing has taken a while to build, and needed lots of repairs and fixes along the way, but am pretty happy with it now - just at the finishing tweaks stage. The Yoshimura pipe I got for $100 at a Swap Meet and made it fit up - and it sounds amazing! 🤩 Can’t wait to take it for a blast on the dirt roads & mountains once the weather improves! 😁

Finished my ultimate XR400 build! Has taken well over a year, but little by little, some weeknights and weekends, it has come up just how I wanted it!

Finally finished the top end rebuild on this XR400R as well now! This one needed a bit more, with a plus 0.25mm bore, and oversized piston, so took a bit longer waiting on the machine shop.
But finally running again, and took it for a test ride & run in! by @hughproject
