Hugo Ariëns is a Utrecht-based guitarist, improviser and composer with a deep fascination for sound. His continuous obsession with the sonic properties of the guitar led him to explore extended techniques and brought him to the prepared guitar.

Using found objects to expand the instrument’s sonic palette, Hugo challenges traditional notions of playing technique and performance.
