i could not have asked for a more perfect ceremony outfit. i knew what i wanted but had no idea how to design it. so thankful for all the hands and aroha that went into making me look and feel like me

to @kirinathan who designed me this jacket. she was patient and kind with my vision and reassured me constantly that we would get there in the end. i love this jacket with my entire soul.

to @panderlopia_ & @savage.hine for the incredible heru piece. my goal in life is to continuously keep morphing into the huia bird and you made my dreams come true.

To julie whom reon and i spent hours in her living room making sure our @noablanketco were made into perfect skirts.

To @br0nz017 who taught us how to make muka and @jesseana who weaved it into ātaahua neck pieces, how special it was to wear collective taonga we had made together.

And finally to @johnathan_percy_stone_art for the incredible taonga that I get to wear as a wedding band for the rest of my life.

these two manu have been raised in the nests of artistic community ki pooneke, and spread their wings, flying ki te ao rangi, landing and making home in this whakaruru ki Kirikiriroa, Waikato.

we introduce you to this shared shelter of our mahi toi whakaari - te whakaruru a ngaa manu taaiko.

a kaainga for our individual & collaborative projects, and a place to dream of workshopping and building the creativity of rangatahi in Waikato.

I am 1 in 10 people. My experience is not rare, it took 7 years for me to correctly be diagnosed via surgery, average time in Aotearoa is 7-10 years. This is not acceptable. I have lost jobs, lost dreams and often lost hope for a pain free, happy healthy future.

I am thankful for the continued support of people in my life who also have endo, for my loving husband who married me knowing he would spend hours in ED, GP and specialist appointments and still chooses me every day. lastly to communities and support groups like @endowarriorsaotearoa who are actively changing the future of the health system.

please reach out if you feel alone and need a friend 🎗️
