What does home mean to you? 💛

Is it a place? A feeling? A person?

For the characters of ‘Behind the Lens’, the meaning of home begins to change as they meet people whose experiences are very different from their own.

The play explores the stories of Asylum Seekers, refugees and people seeking sanctuary. It invites us to question our own circumstances, perspective and meet the people behind the headlines.

🗓️ Thursday 15 October
📍 Hull City Hall
🕗 8pm
🎟️ £10 *. Ticket link is in our bio.

In collaboration with @lenslabproject and @welcomehousehull including some of its members. With funding from @tnlcommunityfund.

*All ticket sales go beyond the ‘lens’. They will help us bring the play to more people and support future performances.

What a night! Thank you to everyone who joined us at @hulltheatres City Hall on Sunday for our Last Night of The Proms, which drew our largest audience in Hull since 2020 🎉

Under the baton of @gergelymadaras, we paid tribute to great works from Elgar, Beach, Wood, Strauss and more. Illuminating vocals from mezzo-soprano @jjohnstonmezzo brought us on a nostalgic and romantic journey through vocal classics from Bizet to Rodgers and Hammerstein. Finally, the audience joined us in jubilant song and celebration to conclude the spectacular evening.

We look forward to our return to Hull City Hall in exactly one month's time for a passionate performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto with award-winning cellist @zfungcello on Thursday 22 October. Find out more about all our performances in Hull at rpo.co.uk/hull

It’s almost time for our first concert of the 2026–27 season, and it’s at one of our most favourite venues, @hulltheatres City Hall! 🎉

The new season kicks off tonight with our Last Night of The Proms celebration with conductor @gergelymadaras and mezzo-soprano @jjohnstonmezzo , who will bring us on a journey through the greats from Elgar’s majestic Pomp and Circumstance to Wood’s Fantasia on British Sea Songs, Strauss’ immortal Overture from Der Fledermaus, and more.

We can’t wait to hear moving music and song fill the Hall once again. See you soon, Hull! by @hulltheatres
