POSTS STORIES REELS

Here are a few photos taken from the Style Machine bar during the Rock and Roller Remote Controller retrospective last Friday, presented as part of our Cinema 514 local filmmaker series.

Pictured are a couple shots of the taste testing — Tabman’s long-stored Tab versus our made-in-house-from-scratch TEB. Another shot captures our special guest moderator Duck donning his new TEB trucker hat, with good friend Charlo alongside. Note Duck’s custom question cards for the panel portion of the program were lovingly made in Brewers colors!

It was a special night of memories, laughs, sharing, art and community that we were very happy to help make manifest. See you all again soon. by @human_called_duck

Beyond happy with spending too much time on this piece. The initial intent was to paint this, but really this has to exude it's character. 8+ hours of gluing loser pull tabs cannot be covered with at least this initial piece. This one is for the freaks. Needless to say I will take your loser pull tabs and this is what they go to. by @human_called_duck

Flyer made for the 9/12 return of Sex Mex (@sexmexsux) to Milwaukee alongside Plowshares (@plowsharesband) and Temporal Autonomy (@temporal_autonomy) - Live at @mke_ultra. You can grab presale tickets from MKE Ultra's website if that's you thing. *Gumby does not have a valid driver's license, do not let him drive you to the show* by @human_called_duck

Tuesday August 4th (house show): Censer [MPLS], Perfect Worker [STL], Cone Earth, Feral Opposition @ The Garden Lodge.

CENSER - best way to describe this post punk is that I listened to their EP walking home by the river with a light mist after getting asked to set up a show, and it made for a surreal travel that kept me smiling without pause.
PERFECT WORKER - angular post punk that does not add up to 180° or 360°, and it's better that way. Leave your geometry at home.
CONE EARTH - what you thought didn't exist in milwaukee, can, and does. You thought only you're closest of friends listened to Uranium Club? *cough* wrong. And ya know it pretty sweet when a wrong is for the right reason. Rolling rhythms accentuated by guitar lines that swallow you at the lip of the cone and drag you down the funnel towards the tip of the cone where you just end up with an unequivocal smile trying to figure out what just happened.
FERAL OPPOSITION - not first show, but first local show. Gloom is what I am told as to describe, but my ears say the most enjoyable earthquake while hearing practices through my floorboards.

The day to day living has been pretty awesome with the sun shining more and more by @human_called_duck

The first photo is the full print - the rest is a walk through of a mini zine made for one of the best lovelies that have been. It has been some time since Nami has not been with us, but if you have been at a show at Tsunami or you have stayed there you have probably had a beer knocked over by this sweetheart, and probably have had the chance ti snuggle with her. So here is at least a "thing" that can commemorate a beautiful spirit, a cuddling warm, and a sunshine that had been in many of a people's day. If you want one you will have to ask her mama @clairasaurus_rex in person, because they will be the only one with copies to give. The only caveat is that you have to write your favorite nami memories on the inside blank space - open the zine up, and write it down for future sharing. Dorky shit. Yeah yeah. Get over it. Stay sappy, it's better that way. by @human_called_duck

So much bullshit all around. So easy to not step in it with a helping hand ready for a friend or stranger. by @human_called_duck

Caring can be so simple.
I'm telling/have been telling myself to use my phone for communication instead of scrolling.
The "better" will not be given to us by corrupt politicians, so we have to do it ourselves for the betterment of our neighbors and community. by @human_called_duck

The other side of my Monday nights...every other week it's polishing/sharpening the knives at work. Meditating movements, muscle memory in full motion, and usually a sentimental album playing. It's something I've enveloped a while bacl since i have the skill and my mondays alone at night foster the capacity to do it. A kitchen without sharp knives is not as good as it could be. So here's some asmr if that's your thing, otherwise it's probably boring. by @human_called_duck

I guess I'll call this one done. Emotionally overextended myself in multiple directions last night. I don't regret it because I knew what I was doing, and it was towards exactly what this piece is trying to showcase. In the bullshit we live in, community matters, which requires focusing on the safety and success of our neighbors on a smaller scale so we can be able to be unified for a bigger scale of making this world better. Better on our terms.
Equality. Anarchy. Peace. Rock and Roll Never Dies. Ain't nobody taking that from me. by @human_called_duck
