On August 15th, we hosted our very first Live Music All-Dayer at The Great Southern! 🎸✨

A miniature indoor festival where 8 incredible artists—solos, duos, and full bands—took the stage and created an unforgettable moment in the history of our Gipsy Hill venue.

The Atrocities EP deals with very real, recent events which have had a big impact on society. The first track, Erosion Of Public Trust, tells the story of the kidnap, rape and murder of Sarah Everard in 2021 by Police Officer Wayne Couzens.

March 3rd 2026 marked the fifth anniversary of her murder, and helps remind us of the implications of her death included exposing systemic failures in the police force, eroding public trust, and calls for cultural reform to deal with misogyny and sexism in the police.

Terrible events like this help shift culture which, in this case, refocused accountability from advising women on how to stay safe to male behaviour. by @human_crushing_machine

These are the guitars I use to track most of the songs.

The Ibanez RGMS7 I bought in Las Vegas at Sam Ash a few years ago. The chain of stores has, sadly, since closed. I originally wanted to buy an RG550 but couldn’t find one. I went to Guitar Centre in LV, but after trying several guitars over the course of a couple of hours, nothing really felt like it connected with me… So the day after, I went to Sam Ash and found it… It felt lots of fun to play. Since then, I’ve upgraded the pick-ups to a set of Bare Knuckle Aftermath humbuckers as well as Gotoh locking tuners. The guitar is a joy to play!

The bass I bought 2nd hand off a retired bassist… He was looking to buy a bass that was a bit lighter, coz I swear this thing is so heavy! And the neck-dive is a bit annoying. But I’d imagine that if you’re in your mid-60s, the last thing you want is to have an anvil strapped around neck! It sounds great though, and I play it sitting down only, so there’s that!
