#WorldEggDay: What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear “eggs”?
Omelette.
Protein.
Breakfast.

Eggs are one of those foods we rarely associate with animal cruelty. But behind every egg is a hen, and the conditions she lives in can look very different from what we imagine. For hens kept in battery cages, life can mean spending every day in spaces so small they have very little room to move freely, stretch their wings or express natural behaviours.

If you’re looking to make kinder choices, here are a few ways to start:
• Try and swap eggs once or twice a week
• Choose brands that ensure the welfare of the birds
• Explore plant-based alternatives that work for you

Because even small changes can help create better lives for hens. by @humaneworldindia

#WorldAnimalDay: Our daily conversations shape perceptions - often without us even noticing.

When we call someone a “donkey”, a “pig”, a “snake” "dog", we turn animals into shorthand for the things we dislike about being human. But animals aren’t stupid, dirty, deceitful or miserable. They’re complex, sentient individuals with their own relationships, personalities, fears and joys.

Maybe changing how we talk about animals is one small way of changing how we see them. Because they deserve to be seen for who they are, not what we’ve made them mean. by @humaneworldindia

#HappyFarmAnimalsDay: From cramped spaces to familiar faces of their friends, farm animals might have a few things to say about the lives we’ve created for them - a world that often sees them as commodities, while overlooking the individuals beneath the label of “farm animal.”

Like dogs and cats, farm animals too are sociable, have distinct personalities and are sentient beings. They form bonds, experience emotions, seek comfort and companionship, and have their own likes and dislikes. Yet, we often reduce them to what they can produce for us, forgetting there’s an individual behind every label.

This #GandhiJayanti & #InternationalDayofNonViolence, lets choose Ahimsa to our species and beyond species - to the animals who share our homes, streets, farms, forests and skies.

How we treat other living beings is part of the world we create.

#internationalcoffeeday : Coffee. Elephants. People. In Karnataka’s Western Ghats, these worlds overlap every day. ☕🐘

Making this shared landscape work takes collaboration, local knowledge and solutions that consider both livelihoods and wildlife.

It’s that time of the year again when we welcome our global Mars Ambassadors to India - giving them the opportunity to see firsthand what their support makes possible for animals and communities.

This year, their on-ground experience took them across Karnataka and Uttarakhand.

In Karnataka, the three Mars ambassadors joined our Mobile Animal Clinic (MAC) in Hubli-Dharwad, working alongside our veterinary teams to care for injured and vulnerable animals, support surgeries, vaccinate dogs and cats against rabies, and build community skills in animal first aid and basic life support.

In Uttarakhand, six Mars Ambassadors spent time with our Dehradun and Haridwar teams, experiencing dog population management up close - from observing surgeries and post-operative care to accompanying catching teams in the field, engaging with communities, and understanding how we work to address human-dog conflict.

On World Rabies Day, they also joined our teams at vaccination camps in villages near Dehradun, meeting local communities and learning more about rabies prevention.

Thank you, @marsglobal, and our Ambassadors @meghafone, @Katylyonss, @ccarrier304, @pesdru, @sandeeptheeda, @hannyyy95, @emaac, @tessanorthcott_, @amelie.couge, for joining us on the ground for the sixth year running - and for turning your support into meaningful action for animals and communities. Over the years, this collaboration has brought global Mars Ambassadors closer to the work they support, while strengthening our shared commitment to making communities safer and kinder for animals. by @humaneworldindia

#WorldRabiesDay: India has committed to eliminating rabies spread by dogs by 2030. Yet no state has achieved rabies-free status.

Getting there will take more than a one-time vaccination. Street dogs need sustained, year-on-year vaccination, people need timely post-bite treatment, and communities need the knowledge to prevent rabies and respond when exposure happens.

These are the tools we already have. Using them consistently can bring us closer to the 2030 goal.

Vaccinate. Re-vaccinate. Prevent rabies.

#WorldTourismDay: The best animal experiences don’t need an animal to perform, pose, be touched, be taken out of its natural world or come at the cost of an animal’s freedom.

Before booking an experience that involves animals, ask:

Is the animal free to walk away?
Can the animal live and behave naturally?
Is the animal being cared for - or trained to entertain?
Can tourists touch, ride or handle the animal?
What happens to the animal when the tourists leave?
Our travel memories shouldn’t come at their expense. by @humaneworldindia

The shift away from animal testing is already underway in pharma.

Across the pharmaceutical industry, companies are increasingly exploring non-animal approaches to drug development and safety assessment — driven not only by the need to reduce animal use, but also by the potential for more human-relevant science and more efficient drug development.

As this movement grows globally, there is an opportunity for India’s pharmaceutical and scientific community to invest in and help shape the next generation of drug development - with less reliance on animals and greater focus on human-relevant science. by @humaneworldindia
