Claire & Tristan 🤍

What a brilliant day this was.

Claire & Tristan celebrated their big day at Comrie Croft, and it’s hard to imagine a better setting for a Scottish wedding. Surrounded by countryside, hills and plenty of space to escape into, Comrie Croft has such a lovely relaxed feel to it and gives you so much to work with throughout the day.

Their outdoor ceremony was held beneath bunting handmade by Tristan’s mum, with the soft glow of fairy lights adding to the atmosphere and making the whole setting feel even more magical. Such a lovely personal touch and it looked absolutely perfect against the Comrie Croft backdrop. The ceremony was led by Tim Maguire, with Claire and Tristan sharing their own personal vows to each other, along with plenty of laughs and a few happy tears.

Add in some great food from Frisky Haggis, beautiful flowers from Tomnah’a and a cracking soundtrack from It’s No Reel and you’ve got a pretty good recipe for a party.

The whole place has that brilliant combination of being relaxed and completely unpretentious while still feeling really special. Exactly the sort of setting where everyone can settle in, enjoy themselves and make the most of having all their favourite people together.

A huge congratulations to Claire & Tristan. Thanks so much for having us along to capture it all 🤍

It’s 13 years since I was invited to become the first ever Humanist chaplain to the University of Edinburgh and we celebrated by putting up a “Before I Die Wall”, inspired by the one created in New Orleans by the artist Candy Chang.

Mrs. M doesn’t really do social media, but this was one story she couldn’t ignore because it was in Hello Magazine!

Lorraine Kelly’s beautiful daughter Rosie married Steve in July and there was a complete media embargo until the story broke in @hellomag a few weeks ago.

Discretion is her middle name…

LAUREN & RORY

Such a beautiful celebration for Lauren & Rory’s wedding on Friday. They had travelled all the way from New Zealand to tie the knot under the giant redwoods of the John Muir Grove at @botanics_weddings and wanted to prioritise capturing candid moments with their family.

@humanisttim led an amazing ceremony, where both Lauren & Rory shared their beautifully worded vows with each other. Lovely to see Tim again and a pleasure to work with him for the first time, having conducted my very own wedding ceremony back in 2018!

It was also lovely to work alongside Gracie, from @gj_photoandfilm who was providing a short video highlight to Lauren & Rory.

Pat & Will Mackie were respectively the 18th and 19th people who had the courage to speak to me before they died.

The phrase, “it was an honour“ is much overused but it wasn’t in either case.

I’m so glad that I got to help everyone say goodbye to them.

I thought the contributions from their friends were wonderful, and I’m glad they got the sendoff they deserved.
