I’m still here, moving quietly through the days. Much of my time has belonged to my family lately to shared meals, familiar voices, and the small rituals that remind us who we are when the world grows loud. I have been trying to remain present, attentive to what often escapes notice: the passing afternoon, and my memories, the tenderness hidden in ordinary moments.

I’ve been in Mexico, where the landscape carries its own language of shadows and light. Between silences, I have been writing a new book, following threads of thought, sometimes elusive, sometimes insistent.
The work has required patience and solitude, and a willingness to sit with memory and imagination long enough for them to reveal their quieter truths. taken in Mexico City, Mexico by @humanleather

Latest one Luis and I worked on. Natural light, kept things simple and unedited.

Doing creative projects along the artist you admire most and who’s also your life partner has been effortless and inspiring. Too many more 💖

Gracias @humanleather for the kindness and rushing with us to get this done against the rain ✨ taken in Ridgewood - Queens NY by @humanleather

I have a solo show in Los Angeles September 20th at @personsunknowngallery I’ll be showing a film I shot in Cuba and edited at @macdowell1907

Se Prendió Candela - Super 8 mm film - installation shot in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba.

The film delves into the untold stories of women who self immolate as a form of suicide. The film is made in anonymity to protect the women who entrusted me with their experiences.

It’s my birthday today, and if I’m totally honest this year has completely changed my life, and I don’t mean that in a fireworks kinda way but in a way in which the things that matter were constantly put into perspective, ultimately I am reaffirmed everyday that all I want is to treat people how I want be treated and to try my hardest to do good in the world.

Anyway you can find me this week at any of these places to celebrate getting older with me. ♥️ by @humanleather
