It was a very insightful experience attending the Goals house x Colgate Palmolive panel reception on from CSR to Public Health Impact.

One of the overarching theme was the need for long- term multi year partnerships rather than short term partnerships in order to meaningfully address the pressing public health issues.

As an early career public health professional, it is imperative to understand that more than 1.2 billion young people will be entering the workforce bringing with them a new reality of public health.

And as we reach closer to 2030 and the global temperatures get higher than 1.5 degrees Celsius, wars displace more and more people and as world leaders prepare to meet this week to discuss the pandemic preparedness and where global corporation stands when it comes to public health, it is vital to let them understand that we cannot have a siloed response but rather need a cross-sectoral and multidisciplinary collaboration for research on pandemics, epidemics, SRHR, mental health and epidemiological trends.

This panel was a great example of UN agencies, governments and philanthropies convening and pledging to work together to ensure that public health access and care truly reaches the communities that need it.

It was an amazing start to day 1 of New York Climate week and attending the WHO Foundation x Maybelline New York conversation on Mental Health care for all.

As a public health professional and a mental health advocate. I have seen firsthand the impact lack of mental health services and care can have on a community.

We see more than often that as the world advances, so does mental health and how we tackle it. From climate disasters, emergence of new epidemics, financial crises, all of these are contributing how we recognize the indicators of mental health.

This is true specially for communities that live in war zones where the invisible mental health factors are overwhelmingly overshadowed by the physical damage of war.

But this is where change must the demand. Actions must ensure that they are localized to the needs of the community.

We must de-stigmatize the conversations surrounding mental health and create safe spaces for mental health systems.

Leaders, corporations, funds and policymakers must ensure that there is continuity in financing for mental health infrastructure specially for communities where this help often never reaches.

I just took part in a consultation, delivered by Youth Champions from the #ActForEarlyYears campaign, on the future I want to see for the early years.

Together, with hundreds of young people globally, we’re making sure leaders listen to our demands and guarantee every child has the #BestStartInLife.

We’re urging world leaders to invest in the littlest children, so we can start building healthier societies, stronger education systems and more prosperous economies.

Grateful to have joined a high-level roundtable with the Director of the New Jersey Department of Health, the Office of the Governor of New Jersey, Senator Andy Kim’s office, the American Red Cross, and Rutgers University.

The conversation centered on one clear message: continued investment in public health — locally and globally — isn’t optional, it’s essential. COVID-19 taught us that preparedness alone isn’t enough; prevention has to be built into the foundation of how we approach public health.

New Jersey continues to show up as a leader in this space, and young health advocates are playing a critical role in carrying that momentum forward — bringing fresh energy, new ideas, and a commitment to the next generation of public health leadership.

At the end of the day, global public health policy only succeeds when it’s paired with community engagement and vaccine education at the local level. Policy sets the direction — but trust, access, and education are what get us there.

Proud to be part of these conversations and even prouder of the work still ahead.
