House of Kawakubo On the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival 2026, @extreme.cashmere takes ”home“ as its inspiration and, starting from the real and diverse family relationships in this city, launches a special project, at home in Shanghai. For extreme cashmere, Shanghai is not an entirely new chapter, but a place of continued living, encounter, and connection. For this project, five groups of people living in Shanghai, with different backgrounds and family structures, were invited into their familiar everyday spaces. Their understanding of what home means was documented, along with the subtle yet enduring emotional connections between people. As for the diverse interpretations of ”home“: home can stem from blood ties, or it can be built upon choice, companionship, and living together; it can be a dining table, a dance studio, or a group of people connected by shared emotions and passions. Inspired by the reunion and emotional connection embodied by Mid-Autumn Festival, extreme cashmere documents, through five real family portraits, the different forms of gathering and companionship in the city of Shanghai. Here, ”home“ is no longer confined to a fixed space or family structure, but becomes a sense of belonging and connection continuously built between people.
