My next songwriting workshop at @girlguitaraustin is Saturday October 10th on Song Structure!

Maybe you’ve got a verse and a chorus and are experiencing “Second Verse Hell”, maybe you’ve got an idea but don’t know how to turn it into a song. For the first part of this workshop we will focus on formats as well as plot progressions that can help you shape and complete your song (or at least get a great first draft!)

The second part of the workshop will be open to song sharing and feedback. Bring copies of your lyrics and your instrument if you’d like to share. Whether you share a song or not, by listening and responding in the group, you’ll learn a lot about songwriting principles that you can take back to your own songs!

Taught by Heather Miller

For women 21+. You can join in person or via Zoom.

I jumped so quickly from the @texaswomensongwritersfestival to HAAM Day to @swrfolkalliance that I didn't have a chance to post my Texas Women Songwriters fest selfies last weekend til now!

1. Always fun to festival with @leahdawnmusic

2. @bethleemusic were checker twins and we both got our hair cut for the fest by @lajevaempoderada 💖 We played at late night set on Friday with @leeannatherton

3. Had such a fun set at @thepearllockhart with @halleyanna and @goodmorningmagsbaker on Saturday!

I feel like I took so many videos at @swrfolkalliance (you know if you followed or skipped my stories this weekend, lol) but these were the only selfies I ended up with in my phone. Plus I know some of them are on other people's phones. I love you whether or not we got a picture this year!

Whew! My black eye is really on the mend, and I'm grateful that between some help from fine folks at Ulta & Sephora I was able to cover it well for all the photos & videos at the @texaswomensongwritersfestival (even with all the sweating! 😂🤪) Grateful to take it off & have a day to go barefaced before jumping back in to more shows at @myhaam Day and @swrfolkalliance 🙌 by @humsongs
