Still waiting for the right film.

The pedals never asked for this!
(REC.260726) A hand-played tremolo gradually shifts out of phase through the continuous motion of the legs. Playing a repeating rhythmic pattern with precision, without getting tired, while still shaping it with subtle nuances is quite a challenge! But I really love the sonic texture this approach creates with the harmonium. Now it’s time to build up my leg strength!

Can mist reveal a piece?

(REC.260602) I came across this modular improvisation from last June. A repetitive, gently oscillating theme, sounding almost like synthetic wind instruments. A few weeks ago, I wandered through Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya’s installation « Cloud 07156 », a sculptural cloud of artificial mist filling Tadao Ando’s rotunda at the @boursedecommerce. I captured a part of this beautiful suspended moment, vaporous and hypnotic. Somehow, this little session, which had never quite found its place, finally found a form within it. Revealed by the mist!

(REC.260826) Repetition is how it takes shape. Developing a personal language on a century-old instrument: Practice every day. Refine the tremolo technique on the harmonium. Become more subtle, more nuanced, more expressive.

(REC.260607) A short piece for modular synth, performed in a single take. Two b-ARP2500 voices and one Moog Mother-32 voice played from a single keyboard. Delayed gate-triggered envelopes create the impression of independent lines entering in succession. The evolving melodic texture emerges from the patch itself, while the Mother-32 filter is shaped live throughout the recording.

(REC.260818) Daily harmonium practice.
A quick live take from a session in the studio. Another version of the tremolo technique, as they say, never skip leg day!

Four instruments, one tiny orchestra.

(REC.260622)
Built from an upright piano, celesta, Mellotron, and modular synthesizer, this piece unfolds across ten tracks. Beyond orchestral imitation, it explores how a limited ensemble can develop its own orchestral language.

(REC.260609) Further exploration of the three-voice modular system w/ ARP2500 & Mother32. Four-track recording: a floating drone, a dissonant backing theme, a gliding lead theme, and a percussive glitch improvisation.
