Viktor Zichó @zicho.hu is in! 🏁 We had a quick word with him after the Gerecse, and his whole race radiated the same thing: calm, control, and a deep well of outdoor experience put to perfect use. Steady the entire way — a brilliant ride. Congrats, Viktor! by @hungariandivide

Christian Reber @weelzwizard lined up for the Hungarian Divide last year too, but an unlucky crash forced him to pull out. This year he came back with real momentum — and maybe for luck, he showed up in the same jersey he wore last year, when he made it halfway through the route. The MTB sections clearly fired Christian up as well, which is no surprise for a Swiss rider: by his own account, trails like these are exactly where he learned to ride. by @hungariandivide

Nathalie @natuzzchen is gearing up for the Silk Road Mountain Race🚵, and she’s treating the Divide as a kind of rehearsal. The singletrack MTB sections were where she really felt at home.

Her approach was completely deliberate — she intentionally planned for more sleep, not wanting to drain her reserves entirely. by @hungariandivide

Füzér Castle has guarded this corner of the Zemplén Mountains since the 13th century, perched on a volcanic peak with a written record going back to 1264. For a short time after the catastrophe at Mohács in 1526, this remote fortress even sheltered the Holy Crown of Hungary. After nearly 1,400 km of dirt and solitude, riders pass under its last great landmark before the finish. From here it is all in the head. Hold on.

🏔️ Hungarian Divide – CP3: Rewarded at the Summit
Standing tall at 964 meters above sea level, Galyatető—the third-highest peak in Hungary, right after Kékes and Hidas-bérc—is ready for the brave. Up here, nature truly rewards the riders for their massive effort.

While a scorching 30+°C bakes the valley below, the weather on the summit could not be nicer. With a light breeze, clear air, and a calm atmosphere, it is the perfect oasis after a brutal climb.

Since yesterday, the riders have been emerging from the mist into CP3.

Every single one of them carries the crushing weight of 1,000 kilometers in their legs. You can see the brutal toll of the journey on their dust-covered legs and strained muscles. Yet, looking into their eyes, fatigue gives way to an undeniable fire. The finish line is calling, and the hunger to finish this race is stronger than the pain.

We are waiting for them with a warm welcome and a chance to refuel before the final push. The finish line is close. Keep going, riders! 🚴‍♂️🔥

NATHALIE SCHNEITTER IS FLYING.
1020 kilometers in 3 days, 20 hours, 37 minutes. She’s spent 27 hours and 3 minutes stopped so far, 17 hours more than Boruzs Zsolt. She’s clearly chosen rest and fast movement. Her moving speed is the highest in the entire field at 15.59 km/h. We’re waiting for her at CP3 on Galyatető, where she’s all but certain to arrive in second. by @hungariandivide

MOLNÁR TIBOR IN 12th PLACE. 758 KM 3 DAYS 2 HOURS 46 MINUTES

Tibor Molnár is currently enjoying the hospitality at CP2 — maybe banking some extra rest before the Pilis and Börzsöny climbs, maybe just waiting out the heat. Either way, his refuelling strategy is dialled in.

“Flavoured alcohol-free beer is the best thing on earth. It cools you off, it’s got everything you need on an ultra, and I entertain myself by trying every single flavour out there.” 🍻

Gimesi Kristóf SZILÁRD IN 7th PLACE. 810 KM 3 DAYS 2 HOURS 35 MINUTES

Kristóf caught the last ferry to Nagymaros — busy night in the Börzsöny. 🚴 His whole approach is wonderfully no-nonsense, summed up by his line on preparation:

“You don’t need to ride much for this. It’s a mental game, not a physical one.”
