🇫🇷 MONT SAINT-MICHEL, FRANCE — SAVE THIS TRAVEL GUIDE! 🏰✨

Rising from the tidal flats of Normandy like something out of a fairytale, Mont Saint-Michel is one of those places you have to see at least once in your life.

📖 A LITTLE HISTORY
The story of Mont Saint-Michel stretches back more than 1,000 years. A sanctuary was established here in the 8th century, and over the centuries the dramatic medieval abbey and village grew above it. Today, Mont Saint-Michel and its bay are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

🎟️ TICKETS
Walking into the medieval village itself is FREE — you only need a ticket if you want to enter the Abbey.

Abbey admission in 2026:
• April 1–September 30: €16
• October 1–March 31: €13
• Some visitors qualify for free admission.

✨ TIP: Reserve your Abbey time slot ahead of your visit, especially during busy months.

🚆 HOW TO GET THERE
From Paris, one popular option is traveling by train toward Pontorson–Mont Saint-Michel, then connecting by bus to the Mont.

Another option:
Paris Montparnasse → Rennes by TGV (about 2 hours) → connecting bus/train service toward Mont Saint-Michel.

🚐 Once you reach the visitor/parking area, the Le Passeur shuttle is FREE and takes you toward the entrance of Mont Saint-Michel. You can also walk the approximately 2.2 km causeway — and honestly, the approach is part of the experience.

🌊 TRAVEL TIPS
• Arrive before 10 AM or after 3 PM to avoid the busiest hours.
• Check the tide schedule before visiting — watching the landscape transform around the Mont is incredible.
• Wear comfortable shoes. There are steep lanes, stairs and plenty of climbing.
• Give yourself at least half a day rather than rushing through.
• Stay until sunset if you can. As the crowds disappear and the lights begin glowing over the bay, Mont Saint-Michel feels completely different.
• Download tickets and important information beforehand in case your connection is spotty.
