Girls in Aviation Day is almost here! We’re bringing this super fun game for the kids to enjoy. They get to pretend they’re an air traffic controller and guide aircraft into an extremely busy airport for a safe landing. It’s deceptively difficult! by @hungry_mantis

Simple Planes VR is an amazingly fun VR flight sim that we’re bringing to Girls in Aviation Day in Camas, WA very soon!✈️

Girls in Aviation Day is a free event hosted by Women in Aviation International every year. This is our 4th year in a row bringing our VR station and it’s always a blast! We hope at least one girl walks away inspired to follow her dreams 💗 by @hungry_mantis

Here’s a little highlight reel of what we did with our grant from @regionalarts ☀️

We applied for and received funding from the Arts3C Grant Program administered by the Regional Arts and Culture Council in Oregon. We used our award to purchase VR headsets to facilitate educational workshops for youth.

As we prepare for Girls in Aviation Day next week, it’s really awesome to reflect on all the events made possible by this award!

Thank you RACC for your support! We hope to continue bringing VR to many, many more people in our community! by @hungry_mantis

We had a great time sharing 360 films during Day 1 of @pnwclimateweek !

The films we showed were made right here, in Oregon, and were united in their ability to transport viewers into stunning natural environments. Hard to reach places, like wetlands, for example. These films were about places that we want to see protected. Like the Minam River Wildlife Area, in the short film @360labs created. And how do you get someone to care about a place that’s far away from their day to day? Put them there, of course!

The utility of storytelling in VR was something we hoped to demonstrate with this event. We had about 20 attendees who tried VR, many for the first time. It was very special to be able to offer this and we want to thank everyone who came out and spent the evening with us!

Getting out and being with community during PNW Climate week is so green green 💚

Check out the custom virtual reality app we made to share immersive films for @pnwclimateweek

A 360 film by @barkformthood and @360labs will be available to check out before and after the screening of @synchronous.tv ‘s “Other Side of the Hill” at @nwdoc on Monday July 13th (Day 1 of PNW Climate Week!)

We believe immersive documentaries pair perfectly with in-person events, especially when those events are film screenings!

Hope to see you there on Monday night 😊 Register online to let us know to save you a seat! #pnwclimateweek by @hungry_mantis

We are co-hosting a free film screening event for @pnwclimateweek next Monday, July 13th with @nwdoc We’re showing “Other Side of the Hill” and the creators will join us live via video for a Q&A after!

“Other Side of the Hill” by @synchronous.tv explores the impacts of a changing climate in rural Eastern Oregon, as seen through the eyes of local leaders on the ground. The film amplifies the voices of rural communities often left unheard, and shines a light on stories of progress and hope.

We couldn’t resist adding some immersive media to the mix, so we’ll also have two 360/VR films available to watch: “Minam River Wildlife Area” by @360labs and an original 360 film made by the nonprofit @barkformthood with technical support from Hungry Mantis!

Space is limited to 30 guests and you can register here:
