She deserves a hard post. 8 seashell shaped gas stations were build in Winston-Salem NC in the 1930s to help draw attraction to the company. This is the last one standing & was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Really cool piece of novelty architecture 💛 by @hunleybee

Tomato pie inspired galette fun today using gorgeous Toms from @turnerfarm_oh, white cheddar from @urbansteadcheese & of course that good ol @dukes_mayonnaise

Crust has some @janiesmill spelt in it with lots of butter. Filling is loaded with cheddar & leeks & shes topped with those gorgeous tomatoes. I never had a tomato pie til today and it’ll deff be something I look forward to making every summer. Happy tomato seasons !!!!! by @hunleybee

You’ll have to forgive me for the photos I didn’t have a chance to get any really good ones but I had the absolute pleasure of making a wedding cake for @thefutureghost last weekend. I got to play with the dome shape for the first time & had so much fun with it. I did vanilla sponge cakes with blueberry, strawberry & rhubarb jam & Swiss meringue buttercream on the outside (always) I decorated with florals from @giaandtheblooms and some fresh blueberries. I had a lot of fun chatting with Ashley and making sure the cake was exactly what she wanted. She even had bouquets of globe amaranth which I didn’t know about so I really feel like I nailed it. Spent the day w/ the family for my grandpas birthday. My mom now lives in what used to be my great grandma Hunleys house. Growing up, she would always host us for the holidays & her house felt like the entire families home. We didn’t get together as much between holidays but you always knew your favorite cousins, aunts and uncles would be at Grandma Hunley’s for Christmas. I remember the outhouse being in working condition. The yard being filled with apple trees. A garden filled with vegetables that would later get canned and put away in her summer kitchen. Hot peppers drying in the garage. The strongest scent of baby powder in her soft pink bathroom. The house seems so small now compared to those days. But it brings me joy that it’s still in the family for my mom to host the next generation. My first cousin Liam is now 6, and I’m so glad that something that was such a core part of my childhood is also a part of his. My grandpa lives right down the road and has a golf cart he drives down which I find adorable. Today he talked about testing the mileage so he could drive it to Dairy Queen. It was nice being back home 🫶🏼 by @hunleybee
